For more information: 2 INTRODUCTION This Position Description describes all the important features of the job that will, in particular, enable the specific objectives of the organisation to be achieved. The attributes of a person able to perform this job are described in the Position Requirements and Key Selection Criteria. 3 JOB PURPOSE The Synergen Operations team exists for the purpose of providing operating and maintenance support to the Pelican Point Power, Synergen Power and Canunda Power assets in South Australia. The Gas Turbine Technician is accountable to Site Managers and the Synergen Production Manager for the implementation of ENGIE in Australia policies and procedures and the safe and reliable operations of the gas turbine generating stations. The role combines hands-on operation, monitoring and maintenance of the gas turbine generators and associated equipment, along with supervisory responsibilities for contractors and external service providers. The role is primarily based at the Dry Creek Power Station, while providing regular support and cover on an as required basis at the Mintaro Power Station. Therefore, regular travel between the two sites will be required. Travel to other Engie in Australia sites will be required from time to time. Page 1 of 5

STAFF The position manages no direct reports, although will have supervisory responsibilities for contractors and external service providers from time to time. Page 2 of 5

Co-operate with any reasonable policy or procedure in place relating to health and safety in the workplace that has been notified to you. Perform hazard identification, risk assessment and implementation of control actions for all activities and plant. Operate & monitor gas turbine generators and associated plant on a local basis, as required. Conduct training and induction sessions as required. Organise and perform routine tests and inspections to monitor plant performance and condition. Plan and perform plant isolations and electrical switching as required Act as Safety Rules Acceptor and Obtain Safety Controller authorisation as soon as reasonably practicable, and perform Safety Controller duties once qualified. Liaise with the ENGIE in Australia trading team, ElectraNet and other agencies regarding plant operation, performance and maintenance. Maintain documentation to support the operation and maintenance of the gas turbine generating plant. Undertake training and assist in the operation & maintenance of the other ENGIE plants, requiring intrastate travel from time to time. Page 3 of 5

4 Initiate and organise routine maintenance, emergency maintenance and specific projects, including coordination of resources from internal and/or external sources. Identify and co-ordinate plant/site modifications, additions and repairs. Update maintenance programmes, procedures, drawings and worksheets as appropriate. Manage inventory and spares including sourcing suppliers and raising requisitions for non-stock items. Other duties as directed, including carrying out the Site Manager s duties in their absence. Be responsible for electronic archiving of all output and other documentation Outcome, Results and Key Performance Indicators: Implement ENGIE in Australia Safety Rules policies and procedures. Obtain High Voltage Switching Licence. Obtain Construction Industry Induction White Card. Obtain qualifications HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life support, HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Attend plant in response to Alarms and operational needs as required during normal and out of hours. Plan activities, schedule and co-ordinate work. Oversee external contractors. Review plant systems and assess maintenance needs. Attend training when requested/required. Recommend, develop and implement system and process improvements. Undertake project work and ad hoc tasks, as requested. Assist other areas as required. Other duties as assigned. Page 4 of 5

Knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA) and the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2012 (SA). Computing skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products. DESIRABLE Understanding of plant performance monitoring and the parameters which affect thermal performance and the means to control them. Process Safety Rules Knowledge of legislative requirements pertaining to a power plant. Working knowledge of Power Plant Operations and Maintenance. Working knowledge of Gas Turbine operations. Working knowledge of instrumentation and control systems. Experience in process isolation systems and High Voltage switching. QUALIFICATIONS Formal qualifications in a Technical, Trade or Engineering related discipline. Current Class Car Driver s Licence. INTERPERSONAL CAPABILITIES Advanced problem solving and decision making skills. Competent planning and scheduling skills. Ability to work to deadlines during peak periods of activity. Be able to work as part of a team. Be self motivated and be able to work with a minimum of supervision. Good written and oral communication skills.
