1 Job details Job title: Head of Planned Investment Responsible to: Director of Repairs Responsible for: Planned Investment Managers Location: Merseyside or Cheshire Overview of the role The overall purpose of the Head of Planned Investment role is to lead on all aspects, including implementation and delivery of all planned programme activity carried out for the Strategic Asset Management Team. They will also support the senior management team on identifying future options for the development of the service for Plus Dane. The post holder will be responsible for managing and coaching of staff, and be a key point of contact with the Strategic Asset and Development teams, within the function. The Head of Planned investment works as part of Plus Dane s Senior Management team to successfully implement strategies and ensure a high level of performance across the organisation. This includes working to develop strong and effective cross functional working initiatives and taking the lead on developing and implementing specific corporate initiatives and representing the organisation with external and internal partners. The post holder will play a vital role within the risk management of Property activity relating to operational activity, and will work diligently with the Director of Repairs to provide regular updates and assurances on risk management processes. Operational leadership and management of a team to deliver an excellent, customer focused planned works service. Ensuring the service is effective and value for money. Managing the Budget, and income and expenditure, for circa 8M spend. Maximising efficiency whilst meeting operational performance targets. Main responsibilities and accountabilities Overall responsibility for planning, organising, and managing resources to maximise financial and service performance levels Lead and manage all Planned operational activities ensuring that works are delivered on time, in full, in compliance with codes of practice. ACoP and current statutory legislation. Ensure full engagement with the workforce in order to maintain high motivation levels, capturing and acting on staff feedback, promoting and developing all staff and creating a culture of empowerment. Ensure the highest standards of customer service, whilst balancing Plus Dane s obligations to financial resilience Maintain and promote effective relationships at all levels with colleagues from other directorates, focusing staff on performance, best value and established best operating practices Ensure compliance with all H&S requirements Continually improve team and overall repairs performance ensuing progress to upper quartile quality and financial performance. Ensure effective budget management to protect and deliver Plus Dane financial plans. Production of Reporting to management, executive team and board on performance Work with Head of People to put in place long term staff and workforce development plans to ensure 5-10 year business plans are supported by effective resources.

4 Job details Job title: Head of Planned Investment (Repairs) Area Education Requirements Educated to degree level or equivalent post graduate qualifications or equivalent senior management experience Senior financial, or commercial role in contracting organisation background preferred SMSTS or IOSH ILM in coaching or willingness to work towards formal qualification Experience and knowledge Has experience of: undertaking a senior operational role in a direct repairs or planned works delivery organisation or held senior operational position in contracting organisation Experience of driving operational, field based teams, performance working with a risk management system developing and implementing strategies developing and leading on change management activities managing a large staff team providing expert advice to staff / stakeholders delivering a high performing service building strong working relationships with external stakeholders and partners Has knowledge of: Direct delivery of repairs, servicing, voids, planned and Aids and adaptions works Tendering, negotiating, and managing service contracts. the political agenda / current operating environment for social housing providers the housing and related markets collaborations/joint ventures/shared services Budgeting and financial management Handling contractual claims Personal qualities Able to: lead, motivate and develop staff lead by example lead the delivery of commercial and financial services think commercially and provide strategic business insight think strategically and solve complex problems control budgets represent and promote Plus Dane s mission and values influence others confidently make decisions
