Overall Purpose of the Role The Senior Volunteer Recruitment & Partnerships Officer will lead on the volunteer conversion journey for young people interested in Raleigh s programmes and research, identify and establish volunteer referral partner opportunities. The successful applicant will play an essential role in the Marketing & Volunteer Recruitment Team: leading on developing the conversion funnel from process and activity, to messaging and reporting. They will also be responsible for growing the number of volunteers recruited onto our programmes from referral partners and increasing income in this area as well as the day today account management of these partners. The role is based in London but some of the geographical remit will be international, including, but not limited to, mainland Europe, North America and Asia. The post holder will compile regular management reports on sales and conversion activity in order to forecast volunteer income and country project numbers. The will also be reporting on application numbers, budgets and forecasts, and analysing enquiry and application trends to influence how we improve our engagement with volunteers. Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities Volunteer Conversion Develop a robust conversion journey and enquiry process Respond to incoming enquiries from young people and potential referral partners interested in Raleigh programmes Ensure regular follow up of enquiries is taking place by phone, text and Deliver recruitment presentations to young people to persuade them to apply Work closely with the Marketing Manager to agree most effective recruitment messaging and share insights on Raleigh s audience 2

3 Referral Partnership Development Carry out research to identify leads and gather insights from multiple sources to establish market opportunity Cold-call potential partners Organise visits where appropriate to meet and secure referral commitment with potential partners Write proposals and pitch presentations; create and agree MOUs and; negotiate commission rates where necessary Networking and attending conferences and exhibitions where appropriate Ensure on-track performance against agreed sales activity KPIs Reporting Ensure processes and systems are in place for robust integrity of data recording including Raleigh s server and CRM system Maintain accurate and detailed records of contact with all enquirers and applicants in CRM system Regular reporting on insights gathered from young people about their attitudes towards taking time out, their concerns, their country choices etc. Analysis of trends in volunteer recruitment Liaise with country teams to forecast project numbers Regular management reporting on volunteer numbers Support the Head of Marketing & Volunteer Recruitment on annual budgeting and forecasting of volunteer numbers and income Maintain accurate and detailed records of contact with all potential partners through the generation and management of a prospect pipeline Regular management reporting on referral partnership activity, opportunities, partners and volunteer applications Report on insights gathered from partners on volunteers attitudes to taking time out, their concerns, country choices, academic commitments etc. Account Management Manage Raleigh s network of existing and developing referral partners and international societies Day to day liaison with referral partners and societies to manage enquiries, applications etc. Identify opportunities to maximise income from Raleigh s referral activity Contact referral partners and societies in case of any issues with volunteers Brief relevant teams at Raleigh to inform them about current and existing partners Volunteer Selection Support with screening and interviewing applicants for our Expedition programme, where necessary Other Responsibilities Budget management Work with Head of Marketing & Volunteer Recruitment to agree income and expenditure budgets Contributing to the development of internal systems and processes 3

4 Sharing best practice, ideas, learnings and successes within the team and organisation-wide to maximise the effectiveness of recruitment activities Other reporting as and when required Support Volunteer Recruitment Officer with contacting potential applicants Person Specification (Skills and Experience) Essential Previous experience of working in a sales role Strong influencing, interpersonal, networking and communications skills Professional, confident and persuasive phone manner Cold-calling skills and evidence of having delivered excellent customer service Experience of developing conversion journeys An ability to vary tone and messaging for different stakeholders in written and verbal communication Evidence of identifying market opportunities, research, segmentation and targeting Proven experience of generating new business, growing income and developing partnerships, ideally in a B2B role; from prospect identification to signing contracts or MOUs Excellent research and writing skills including the ability to condense desk research into key headlines Exceptional relationship and account management skills Track record in being results-driven and achieving targets Proven analytical and management reporting skills Excellent presentation skills Self-starter with an enthusiastic, positive and flexible attitude IT literacy: good level of competency with CRM databases and spreadsheets Track record in multi-tasking and structuring and prioritising workload to meet deadlines Evidence of ability to work as both part of a team and independently without close supervision Innovative approach to problem-solving Excellent administration skills and attention to detail Commitment to the aims, ethos and culture of Raleigh International Desirable First-hand experience of a Raleigh programme or volunteering overseas Working knowledge of Spanish, French, German or other foreign language Expertise in budget management or income forecasting Experience of working in the charity, travel sector or in an international sales role Other Information Holiday entitlement The holiday entitlement for full-time staff is 25 working days per year, plus 8 public holidays. Office hours Normal office hours are Monday to Friday, 9.00 am pm, though staff can vary their start and finish times between 8.00 am 4.00 pm and am 6.00 pm. 4

5 Weekend, early morning and evening working will be required to support and deliver conversions events. Periods of international travel may be required to visit referral partners or accompany them on programme visits.
