Now is an exciting time to join this vibrant, progressive and well-respected organisation. PIP is one of our well established projects which supports people with an intellectual disability in human relationships and sexuality. PIP provides a specialised services in education, counselling and training to clients, parents, carers and service providers by focusing on protective education, relationships and sexuality. 2. Job Details Employment Status: Hours: Part-time 24 hours/fortnight (negotiable) This autonomous role will be based in Albany but will closely be supported by the PIP team based in Northbridge. The successful candidate will be required to provide counselling and education services in one-to-one and group sessions to a diverse client base. Travel is required to attend monthly team meetings in Perth. Page 1 of 9

A Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling or equivalent tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work. 2. A minimum 5 years experience working with individuals with an Intellectual Disability. 3. A thorough knowledge and skills in relation to Sexuality and Sexual Health including contemporary Issues. 4. Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships with clients families and other service providers. 5. Proven ability to develop, design and implement integrated training and assessment strategies and materials. 6. The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. 7. Current and valid driver s licence and access to a vehicle. 8. Good communication, organisational and planning skills. 9. High level of written communication skills. Position Description Job Title: Counsellor Albany Department: People 1 st Programme Responsible To: Manager-People1st Programme Employment Status: Permanent Hours: 24 hours/per Fortnight Classification: SHQ Level 5 Date of Issue of Job Description: March 2016 Reviewed: Annually by Manager JOB PURPOSE: The People 1st Programme supports people with an intellectual disability in respectful relationships, sexuality and protective education. The programme has an educational counselling focus and responds to current client needs. At times individuals require a diverse therapeutic approach using an eclectic counselling model. SELECTION CRITERION ESSENTIAL: 1) Minimum 5 years experience working with individuals with an Intellectual Disability. 2) Thorough knowledge and skills in relation to Sexuality and Sexual Health including contemporary Issues. 3) Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or equivalent. 4) Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling. 5) Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships with clients families and other service providers. 6) Proven ability to develop, design and implement integrated training and assessment strategies and materials.
