2 2/5 Background Sexual and gender based violence (SGBV) is often exacerbated during humanitarian crises when the stability of the society is disrupted and the population is most vulnerable. Refugees are at an even greater risk as they lack the protection of their government and may have limited rights in their host countries. Sexual harassment is a pervasive problem in Egypt, which is currently affecting the more disadvantaged Syrian population. Economic empowerment has long been considered a vital component in structural interventions to reduce sexual and gender-based violence among women. As such, this dual-approach will focus on economically empowering women while educating them on their rights, SGBV, and available services for SGBV survivors, socially empowering them in order to stand up to SGBV, and providing them with women friendly spaces (WFS) where they can form social networks and discuss challenges. During LEAP II, CARE will provide vocational training & capacity building in economic empowerment for skills development.the project will implement an array of crafts workshops to 125 women, crafts included cloth sewing, jewelry making, and embroidery courses. The courses targeted vulnerable women from refugee and host communities. The project will be implemented within CARE s Women s Friendly Spaces in Maadi and at National Council for Women (NCW) s community center (CC) in Haram. Building on tailored skills based trainings provided, CARE had supported in establishment of a production unit Al Mashgel that aims to maintain a self-sustainable and profitable system for the targeted women through providing guidance, supervision, and on-going training. Al Mashgel is a production center offering refugees and host communities the required training and resources needed to support them produce marketable brand. Al Mashgel s production takes place at the workshop space in Maadi, Cairo and will soon be in the National Council for Women in Giza with the initial goal of creating livelihoods and income generating opportunities for women, whether at the workshops premises or home based. Al Mashgel serves as a platform to create contemporary fashion, accessories and homemade products Within this framework, CARE Egypt is looking for a consultant with experience in soft skills training and teambuilding activities with underprivileged groups, especially refugees with the objective of promoting teamwork and cohesion within the Al Mashgel team. Targets: The Consultant will be responsible to deliver the following training as follows:- 1. Teambuilding: A team building training will be implemented and attended by 50 women (split On 2 groups each group 25 women) to enhance social relations and define roles within the team including collaborative tasks. The objective of the teambuilding is to facilitate the relations among the 11/21/2018 2

3 3/5 women, enabling them to work together, learn from one another, and further develop a sense of belonging to the production units. 2. Organization Training: An organization training will additionally provide the 50 women (split On 2 groups each group 25 women) with the knowledge on the importance to organize themselves, highlighting that collectivity brings a higher impact than individuality. In addition, women will gain skills to organize themselves and their work, manage time, and assure that work is on track, which will assist them on both personal and professional platforms in terms of personal growth and boosting productivity. 3. Communication Training: A communication training will provide (split On 2 groups each group 25 women) women with the skills to communicate amongst themselves and with their potential stakeholders. In regards to team communication, they will gain an overview of team dynamics and work on understanding their personal communication style as well as comprehending each team member s style. The objective of the training is also to offer techniques to incorporate listening into their daily communication and with their stakeholders, to build personal credibility through comprehending various communication styles, to use language that is better received in conversations, and to deal with difficult situations. The assignment location:- at National Council for Women (NCW) s community center (CC) in Haram. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Consultant will deliver all the above components 2. For both training programs, pre- and post- assessments will be carried out to monitor the activity and to evaluate whether attendees have gained the necessary skills. The post-assessment will not only be theoretical as it will also be based on trainers practical assessment and supervision of participants. 3. Consultant will provide a detailed report providing feedback on her attained skills post the trainings programs and the teambuilding as well as recommendations. 4. Consultant will be required to provide the materials needed for all the training programs and the teambuilding Professional Skills and Experience 1. Knowledge and Expertise in the area of capacity building and vocational training 2. Demonstrated experience in dealing with different cultures and backgrounds 3. Knowledge in working towards empowering local artisans and emerging designers through holistic tailored solutions, in which it provides trainings to beneficiaries to professionalize crafts and then sell products through major launch events. Proposed time plan Detailed breakdown Budget CARE will withhold applicable taxes and deposit the funds with the applicable for tax authorities under this agreement (based on the proposal submitted please ensure that it is included in the proposal).
