Chamber Leadership Comment Themes Some need to interact and listen more to employees There is better communication but still lack clarity on vision There is greater confidence in the direction the chamber is headed Still concern of SLTs being on the same page Leadership team members often try to be helpful. One example of why I don t have 100% confidence in the SLT is that they turn a blind eye to those who don t make us better.

Work Environment Comment Themes Need new desk chairs Excited/challenged by new CRM Some employees don t make sure front door is locked after hours Satisfied with space I am very grateful for the coffee machines and variety of free drinks Our space is impressive and I am proud to share it with our guests. Some employees do not understand if they have an after hour event that they are responsible for making sure all guests exit and the front door is locked.

Organization Effectiveness Comment Themes Some processes are unclear or don t exist Not everyone follows the processes which makes them less effective More reactive than proactive in process development Need to work on cross communication between departments I see this more and more in a positive light. We seem stuck in the past some times that we re unwilling to allow new things to be successful.

Opportunities for Innovation Comment Themes Not safe to fail Stretched too thin to innovate Revenue pressures impact ability to innovate Must continue to challenge model; C2 not a one time answer I have presented new ideas that have been well received by my peers and manager. We are always locked against the budget. On one side try new and it s okay to fail, yet you are always judged by the budget in a very tight way.

Employee Development Comment Themes Do not feel fully trained Department too lean to take time for professional development It s all about figuring it out most of the time. Sometimes figuring it out helps enhance one s skills. I m not sure I was ever trained to do my job.

Employee Development Comment Themes Still a salary gap Increased responsibilities should result in increased pay There is an effort to close the gap, but more work needs to be done Bonuses structure isn t clear or consistent I did not know about all the benefits before I started It has been a nice surprise. The compensation strategy retains top leadership, but not entry and middle levels.

Model Comment Themes Still confusing/lack of clarity Confusion around free membership and future revenue model I am excited about the new direction the chamber is moving in. Over the past few months, I have received much more clarity regarding the direction we are moving in. Several of the splashy announcements of 2017 have become C2 ghosts (Entrepreneur-in-Residence, C2 Roadshow, free membership).

Recognition Comment Themes Adequate recognition Don t need recognition for doing the job I feel I am appropriately recognized for my contributions. Quarter believe they do not receive enough recognition.

Individual Accountability Comment Themes Work/Life balance is important Need to take advantage of training and professional growth Overall positive responses I will only let people out of jail a few times before I will hold them accountable. This goes back to processes. We have them for a reason.

Overall Satisfaction Comment Themes There is a different set of rules for some people Need more procedures 85% of staff is satisfied overall I am okay at the chamber. I am learning. However, I will accept another job offer if I am given the opportunity.

What would jazz you up? Comment Themes Review of pay structure Shadow senior leaders Impromptu Happy Hours Elimination of artificial fires Less sulking, more fun Less woe is me and more excitement around the work we do. Having the opportunity to truly make an impact on our broader community.

Other Comments? Comment Themes Last year was extremely challenging at times, however I feel very positive in the direction the chamber is currently moving. Need to explore how we really move the needle in the community not just play a convener role. Employees are willing to share their experience in working with the chamber. However, if that experience is negative, they are just was willing to share I don t want employees to feel censored. I want employees to feel empowered because they are proud of their work and employer. Things are so incredibly better than a year ago.
