2 Introducing TLG Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) is a national charity that helps churches to bring hope and a future for struggling children. That means getting alongside struggling children, providing practical support in and out of school and connecting with home to bring hope and a future. All over the UK, children are struggling in school for all kinds of reasons and many families are suffering without hope. Nationally, the latest statistics show that: Children living in poverty are 4 times more likely to get a permanent exclusion from school More than two thirds of the current prison population were excluded from school One in six year old NEETs (those not in Education, Employment or Training) die within ten years of falling out of the system 1.5 million children are entitled to free school meals in the UK But there is hope. It comes through the local church making a real difference in their community. TLG is passionate about bringing a practical approach that goes way beyond education and works to build strong connections between local churches, families and schools. 3 Job Description We are looking for someone who has a passion for excellent administration and high-level support to senior leaders. Location: TLG National Support Centre, Bradford Salary: 18,022-22,487 (dependent on experience) Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday-Friday, occasional evening and weekend work required) Reporting to: Operations Director Organisation & Role Context TLG has a vibrant organisational culture that encourages leadership at every level. We re not really into hierarchy and we love individuals to bring their faith into their individual roles, seeking to serve God and one another to see lives changed. The Executive Assistant will be right at the heart of the action supporting the chief executive and core leadership team to be as effective as they can be in bringing a Hope and a Future to struggling children and their families across our country and beyond. What will the job involve day to day? Support senior leaders: proactive support anticipating needs of senior leaders through regular catch ups; carry out research; prepare data / reports and present information; take minutes and follow up actions; respond to correspondence and general admin. Diary management & meeting planning for the Chief Executive and Core Leadership Team. General administration to support TLG Managers: e.g. typing, preparing and distributing reports, updating databases, monitoring for funders and partners. Coordinate reporting processes to support TLG strategic planning and trustee board engagement. Arrange travel for senior leaders as required. Organise staff meetings. General office admin e.g. order office supplies and oversee the office environment Attend, fully participate in and, on occasions, lead daily Christian devotionals and times of worship for the staff team. Be aware of the opportunity to participate in residential trips, involving children from the projects that TLG are a part of. Actively promote TLG s regular giving scheme and recruit a number of individuals to become regular Hope Givers.

4 Christian Lifestyle Experience Skills & Knowledge Qualifications Person Specification Essential Desirable Good secondary education including GCSE A*-C grades in Degree or equivalent English and Maths Any relevant administration / business qualifications. Microsoft office training / qualifications. Track record of excellent administrative and organisational Effective contract skills. negotiation and contract Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications including management skills. PowerPoint to create high quality presentations and Excel for creating spreadsheets to analyse data (using formulas) and produce graphs. Excellent social and communication skills to engage individuals and ensure co-operation to achieve the best possible outcomes. Ability to bring leadership to a small project / role. Ability to lead up to senior management and across the organisation to key managers to ensure outcomes are achieved / deadlines are met. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills. Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment. Ability to take initiative and work proactively. Has highly effective personal leadership, confidence around senior leaders (internal & external) and the ability to act as a role model for the culture and values of TLG. Experience in an administrative / PA / secretarial role, Experience of project management. Experience of working with / supporting senior leaders Commitment to actively pursue ongoing personal, emotional and spiritual development within the life of a local church. Attend and participate, where possible, in devotions, prayer meetings and staff conferences to enhance the spiritual relationships within the team.

5 Additional Be able to work sensitively with those of different cultures and faiths whilst maintaining their own Christian faith, and commitment to Equal Opportunities. Play an active part in promoting the work of TLG including the recruitment of individual regular donors through TLG Hope Giver scheme. Provide 3 referees - at least one referee needs to represent Christian commitment. References will be taken up after short-listing. Provide evidence of suitability to work in the UK and appropriate qualifications. Live within a reasonable travelling distance.
