2 About AHIMA s IG Initiative Since 2012, AHIMA has committed to advancing information governance (IG) in the healthcare industry. Safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care for individuals and populations requires trusted data and information. This trust can be attained through widespread adoption of IG. One of AHIMA s approaches for increasing adoption across healthcare is the Information Governance Adoption Model (IGAM ). IGAM is the maturity model for healthcare, and it is offered exclusively through the IGHealthRate assessment tool. About IGHealthRate IGHealthRate is the only information governance (IG) assessment specifically created for healthcare. IGHealthRate uses AHIMA s IG Adoption Model (IGAM ), which enables interactive evaluation of the organization s information protection, maintenance, and governance practices and provides guidance for organizations to advance practices on a path to AHIMA s IGAM Level 5. IGHEALTHRATE : Measures maturity in information governance within 10 organizational competency areas Advances healthcare organizations of all shapes and sizes toward a focus on information as a strategic asset that can be harnessed and utilized to create competitive advantage Builds stakeholder engagement through education and awareness of the benefits of information governance initiatives Drives organizations through coaching and resources available in the IGHealthRate software Charts progress toward AHIMA IGAM Level 5 Tracks organizational maturity, by competency, compared to peer group IGHR STYLE GUIDE 2

3 Communication Our tone of voice expresses IGHealthRate s personality and helps establish us and your organization as the trusted way to reach operational excellence in trusted information. Whether we are speaking at professional conferences, hosting our own conference, or developing printed collateral and educational materials; we need to clearly and concisely reinforce that IGHealthRate is the key to safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care for individuals and populations through trusted data and information. The list below provides a range of acceptable Voice Attributes that should be applied appropriately based on the intended audience for the specific communication. IGHealthRate Voice Attributes EPERT We are a trusted, established resource with a reputation for our knowledge and expertise. Our tone should be professional and intelligent without being complicated. INSPIRING To truly be thought of as innovators, we must inspire our audience. We are at the forefront of health information, so our tone should always be forward-looking. Our audience has come to us to be illuminated and to grow we are their sage. ACTIVE Use active words and sentence structures to create an energetic tone. HELPFUL Information governance can seem daunting. We want to show healthcare professionals how information governance is ingrained into healthcare as a whole. IGHR STYLE GUIDE 3

4 Communication DO Be concise. Be considerate of your readers time. Can it be said in fewer words or shorter sentences? Tighter wording can also add energy to copy. Be empowering. Use professional, yet personable language to inspire. Be clear. Information Governance can be complex. We add value by simplifying whenever possible, to make content more easily understood. DON T Be complicated. Traditional, long sentence structures and paragraphs can be daunting, and wear out our readers. Use colloquial language. Speaking in personable terms is acceptable; however, AHIMA is a knowledgeable and trusted resource, so maintain that sense of professionalism. Tagline Mission Possible with IGHealthRate TM Subtagline Advance Information Governance in Your Organization The logo with our tagline can be used on marketing and promotional materials, including media such as podium signs, name tags, banners, and displays. Official logo, size, color usage, and spatial relationships apply to the logo with tagline. The tagline or subtagline cannot be altered or combined with other logos or taglines. IGHR STYLE GUIDE 4

5 Photography To achieve the IGHealthrateTM s photographic style, use contemporary lifestyle photography featuring people and places. Photos should have negative space to accommodate copy overlay and be light and airy, overall with high contrast to create interest. Above all, images should have desaturated cool tones. It was chosen because of its ability to perform well in a wide range of formats and as a compliment to Gotham. Minion Pro consists of four weights (plus corresponding italics). 8 IGHealthRate TM Logo The logo should be used on promotional items, stationery and any other materials created for internal or external use. IGHealthRate TM text version When using the text version of IGHealthRate TM in copy, brand standards require that HealthRate is italics and is always followed by the (TM). EAMPLE: IGHealthRate TM is the only information governance (IG) assessment specifically created for healthcare. Gray: pms 424 Red: pms 200. CLEAR ZONE To optimize logo recognition, a minimum clear zone from type and other distracting graphic elements should be maintained. Half the height of the logotype, is the init measure we use to determine the Clear Zone. Consistent logo placement and sizing are also important for improving brand recognition. IGHR STYLE GUIDE 8

9 Minimum Size The logo should never be reduced to a size smaller than 1". Reducing the logo below this size will cause the type to fill in. 1 inch DO Reversed One Color Black DON T Lock Up Copy Do not lock up logo with copy or any tagline. 10 Logo Usage The IGHealthRate TM logo s appearance must never be altered. Prohibited alteration includes recreating or redrawing the logo with computer graphics or word processing programs. Never regroup the logo elements, combine the logo with additional symbols, distort/stretch/squeeze/scale the logo either horizontally or vertically, or replace the correct typeface with an incorrect typeface. LOGO USAGE BY THIRD PARTIES AHIMA seldom grants permission to third parties to use the IGHealthRate TM logo but as a Brand Partner or Supporter you have been given permission. Requests by third parties to use the IGHealthRate TM s logo should be forwarded to the AHIMA s information governance marketing manager, and should include the purpose of the logo s use as well as how and where it will be used. The IGHealthRate TM logo should not be used in any form that would suggest IGHealthRate TM, AHIMA, and its affiliates or promotes an outside product or service or that might suggest a person or organization is an affiliate of IGHealthRate TM or AHIMA. The IGHealthRate TM logo should also not be used for any campaigning, personal, or electronic communication purposes, including signatures and letterhead.
