3 MARKETING & FUNDRAISING ASSISTANT 16,000 Per Annum Full time / 37.5 hours per week New Art Exchange (NAE) is a ground breaking, award winning and internationally recognised arts space in the heart of inner city Nottingham. The venue is dedicated to promoting excellence in contemporary culturally diverse visual arts through exhibitions, events and education initiatives. NAE also has a strong commitment to developing engaging and accessible programmes inspired by the venue s immediate community. We are seeking to appoint a creative and energetic Marketing Assistant to support and assist the Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing in the promotion of NAE s venue, exhibitions, and events through the production and distribution of marketing content and provide support for communicating with donors and members through responsible data handling, website development and communications for fundraising campaigns. You will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual educated to degree level or with at least a year s experience of working in marketing, communications, design or a related area. You will have experience of creating digital content, proficiency with social media marketing, including analytics and an interest in arts and culture. Excellent customer care skills are essential. Some flexibility will be required for evening and weekend work. 4 JOB DESCRIPTION POST TITLE: SERVICE AREAS: GRADE/SALARY: Marketing & Fundraising Assistant Marketing and Audience Development Fundraising and Business Development Full time 37.5 hours per week, 16,000 per annum DATE: January 2019 RESPONSIBLE TO: Marketing & Communications Manager PURPOSE OF JOB: 1. To support and assist the Marketing and Communications Manager in the promotion of NAE s venue, exhibitions, and events through the production and distribution of marketing content. 2. To support the organisation s business development activities by communicating with donors and members through responsible data handling, website development and communications for fundraising campaigns MAIN ACTIVITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To assist in the performance monitoring, evaluation, market research and customer surveys for the organisation. 2. To work with the marketing and audience development teams in distributing of print and marketing material to arts venues and other organisations. 3. To prepare and distribute newsletters and e-flyers using MailChimp, list NAE s programme to relevant event listings site, and to update NAE s own website. 4. To post on social media in line with current trends, to plan seasonal social campaigns, and to monitor audience reach/growth. 5. To assist the marketing team in creating content in various mediums: fortnightly e-shot, website, on the premises (posters/flyers) and blog. 4

5 6. To support the creation and implementation of a marketing and communications strategy 7. To manage the Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) database: update the audience/members database, input information and extract reports. 8. To assist with marketing materials for fundraising campaigns. 9. To assist with creating copy for web and print, creating video/sound content and proofreading texts. 10. To undertake any other related duties that may be assigned by NAE s Management team. Educated to degree level in any marketing, communications, design or related creative degree or a minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role Experience 2. Experience of creating digital content 3. Experience with database management 4. Experience of basic video editing 5. Experience of basic website management 6. Experience of working in a marketing or fundraising role 7. Experience of working in an office 8. Experience in fundraising activities SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTITUDE: 9. Strong communication skills, both written and oral 10. Strong time management and organisational skills 11. An ability to work independently and in a team 12. Computer literate with experience of using social media marketing, including analytics 13. Strong written skills, ideally with experience of copywriting or creating innovative content 14. 8 TERMS AND CONDITIONS Salary The salary for the post of Marketing & Fundraising Assistant, 16,000 pa is paid on the 25 th of the month in arrears. Working hours are full time 37.5 hours per week. Holiday/Annual Leave The annual holiday/leave year begins on 1 st April and ends on 31 st March. The annual leave entitlement for the contract period is 25 days plus statutory public/bank holidays per year. Probationary Period Any offer of appointment to the post, is made on an initial six-month probationary basis and is therefore subject to evidence of full satisfactory performance in the role during this period. Assessment will be undertaken between the post-holder, Marketing Manager & Deputy CEO.
