3 CSEA Women s Conference April 5-7, 2019 / Tarrytown, NY Message from CSEA President Danny Donohue Dear CSEA Sisters and Brothers, In America, the struggle for women s rights has run right along with the struggle for workers rights. Women today continue to be undervalued for the hard work they do and their contributions to our society. We can look back at what we have accomplished in fighting for rights in the labor movement and take pride in how far we ve come, but we also need to be mindful we still have a long way to go to reach fairness for all. There is a place for everyone in this fight because it requires all of us to be united in our commitment to making sure everyone has the same opportunities, fair treatment and respect we all deserve. One of our most powerful weapons in this fight is education. We must continually be learning new skills and techniques to engage our members and others in this fight for fairness. By doing this, we can move towards our goal of true equality. We re excited to invite you to the 2019 Women s Conference in Tarrytown. This year s theme is Empowering Union Women and is designed to teach you what you need to advance CSEA s mission of promoting fairness and equality for ALL members. By making sure we stay with our union and have the right conversations with our members, we can ensure we re stronger than ever. We sincerely hope you will join us for what promises to be a wonderful conference full of information, ideas and networking. Thank you for your dedication to continuing the fight for fairness for all CSEA members! In solidarity, DANNY DONOHUE
