1 11 th July 2017 VACANCY Head of Operational Risk Cowley House Full time, Monday - Friday We are looking to recruit a full time Head of Operational Risk to join our team at Cowley House. Reporting to the Finance and Commercial Director and working closely with the other members of the Senior Management Team, your brief will be to reduce road traffic accidents and improve management of insurance claims related costs. You will support the Head of Operations and Depot Managers to proactively promote awareness of accident blackspots, costs resulting from accidents and support the coaching of members of staff involved in accidents. You will ensure that recruitment, induction, mentoring and training processes appropriately focus on operational risk and ensure all driving staff have the appropriate licences. Managing the two personnel within the CCTV department you will ensure that good quality footage is available as required. You will also ensure recovery claims for non-fault accidents are processed on a timely basis. You will work with the local authority partners to deliver measures to reduce accidents and improve bus segregation where possible. You will also liaise with third party claim handlers to manage insurance claims and costs. You will also liaise with other group company colleagues within Go-Ahead group risk forum. Successful applicants will have considerable experience in a similar role and must be able to evidence a proactive approach to the management of risk. Working as part of the Senior Management Team this role will require an individual who can demonstrate excellent communication, team working, interpersonal and technical skills along with a passionate and flexible approach to the role. Luke Marion Finance and Commercial Director Cowley House, with occasional requirement to attend Thames Travel and Carousel Buses sites Job Purpose Full responsibility for the Risk function across Oxford Bus Company, Thames Travel and Carousel Buses, a client group of approximately 800 colleagues. Working across a range of risk management activities, including strategic planning and hands-on operational risk management. This role is the main point of contact on risk related matters for the Oxford Bus Group of Companies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop effective risk strategies to support the objectives of the business and in support of the change programme Develop communications relating to risk management to accelerate the understanding and adoption of the standards and behaviours expected in the Oxford Bus Group of companies Act as the internal consultant for managers and directors on matters of risk management Partner local authority and third party organisations and individuals to ensure the provision of supportive policies towards the company and its objectives Promote awareness of risk across the companies and provide advice to internal colleagues Support the local delivery of Group projects and participate fully in the Group Risk Forum Develop the analysis of data and use of empirical evidence within the organisation to

It operates around 50 buses serving a wide geographical area, including High Wycombe, Amersham, Chesham, Hemel Hempstead, Reading, Watford, Uxbridge and Heathrow Airport.
