1 pprenticeship Funding and Contracts Officer JOB DESCRIPTION Employment status: Hours: Location: Department: Manager: Liaises with: Permanent, part time 21 per week working 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. (please specify your preferred working days within your application) Horizons, 60 Queen s Road, Reading, RG1 4BS d-hoc remote working may be possible Commercial and Business Development John Pratt, Head of pprenticeship Funding and Contracts pprenticeships Team, dmissions Team, Finance Team, Enterprise Business Development Team, Student Records Systems and Data Team Summary of the role The pprenticeship Funding and Contracts Officer role is fundamental to UCEM s development and delivery of UCEM s apprenticeship service. You will work closely with the Head of pprenticeship Funding and Contracts to ensure that UCEM s apprenticeship delivery is compliant with Education and Skills Funding gency (ESF) requirements, to ensure that funding allocations are effectively monitored and managed and to ensure that contracts relating to UCEM s apprenticeship delivery are effectively managed and supported. Duties and responsibilities Support the development and maintenance of learner file document templates to enable ESF compliance. Support the development and maintenance of controls processes to support the achievement of ESF compliance. Undertake internal audit and routine sampling of UCEM s apprenticeship records to determine if compliance with ESF requirements exists. Produce Management Information (MI) returns in accordance with UCEM s framework agreements. Provide information, advice and guidance to UCEM teams and UCEM subcontractors to support compliance with ESF requirements. Support funding income forecasting and funding reconciliation activity. Support the establishment and management of UCEM s subcontracting relationships. Support the management of UCEM s contracts with apprenticeship end-point assessment (EP) organisations. 2 Run ESF Provider Data Self-ssessment Reports, review for queries/errors and liaise with UCEM teams as appropriate to resolve queries/errors. Support the resolution of Individualized Learner Record (ILR) queries/errors. Create and maintain UCEM s entries in the Course Directory Provider Portal. dvise and support other UCEM teams/staff as necessary to enable UCEM to offer and deliver a firstclass apprenticeship programme. Other duties as appropriate to business needs and the grade of the post. Line management responsibilities None Financial accountabilities None PERSON SPECIFICTION = pplication/cv I = Interview T = Test Qualifications and training L4 qualification or equivalent professional experience L2 Maths and English qualifications Bachelors degree or higher Evidence of recent CPD Previous experience Recent business support experience in either an apprenticeship facing role or in a role linked to ESF funded programmes Experience in a similar role Experience of developing processes and procedures Experience within the same or similar sector Experience of managing own workload Experience of planning and undertaking audit work Experience of supporting and guiding other teams Skills, knowledge and aptitudes Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Knowledge of ESF funding streams and funding rules relating to apprenticeships UCEM 06/2018 Page 2 of 5

If you are appointed to this post you will also be required, as part of your induction training, to undertake training relating to safeguarding and Prevent. This training will be both face-to-face and online. ny prior training in these areas is helpful, however it will not make you exempt from undertaking training with us. BENEFITS Salary range 28,000 to 30,000 per annum Full Time Equivalent. 24 days paid holiday (rising with service to 27) plus paid bank / public holidays and up to 5 paid closure days; all per holiday year Full Time Equivalent.
