7 Our Objectives Our objectives are the targets which represent our ability to achieve our mission. We will: Provide excellent housing and support services to our customers Invest in our homes and neighbourhoods Grow the organisation sensibly Continuously improve our financial strength Our current position Coastline Housing continues to improve the services provided to its customers and this is evidenced by our satisfaction levels. Last financial year we received the results of our all customer STAR survey and were delighted that 92.2% of our customers were satisfied with the services we provide. This was an increase of over 6% from 2009 and places Coastline in the top 5% of housing providers nationally. However, we are also keen to benchmark Coastline against all companies and we were very proud to be named Cornwall s most customer focused business at the Cornwall Business Awards We are particularly proud of our recent rent arrears figures. We have registered top quartile performance and achieved a reduction since the same point in 2012 this is despite the introduction of the Bedroom Tax, Benefit Cap and the reduction of Council Tax Benefit. Cornwall currently has over 28,000 families on the waiting list for homes. We have continued to grow the business sensibly in the challenging economic climate completing 107 new homes last financial year. In the past 12 months we have secured grant funding to develop 400 more. Over the past couple of years we have developed much needed affordable homes in tourist hotspots such as Padstow and St Ives and undertaken landmark regeneration schemes. On the latter we were extremely pleased to secure both the RICS South West development of the year and Michelmores large scheme of the year in 2013 for our Trevu Road regeneration scheme in Camborne. Underpinning all this is a determination to continually improve the financial strength of Coastline and this is evidenced by our latest set of annual accounts. Over the past four years we have increased our surplus four fold and are on track to achieve our best ever financial performance this financial year. Coastline Care had a turnover for the first nine months of 1.7 million - 30% from homeless and 70% from older persons. February 2014 Page 7 of 18
