We group our programs into: community, education, family services, family violence, foster and kinship care, residential care, past clients, therapeutic services and youth services. The team comprises seventeen main staff: two Directors, five Senior Managers and ten ongoing positions. At different times project officers are brought in to assist the team in completing key pieces of work. The team focuses on public policy, evaluation and research, supporting reflective and evidence-informed practice, facilitating continuous improvement across all services, service innovation, strategic initiatives, state wide program development, and advocating internally and externally for policy, practice and system reforms. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE The Senior Manager Service Quality & Innovation works to: Lead and facilitate the implementation of the Berry Street Excellence Framework. Assist all services delivered by Berry Street to be of the highest possible quality. Promote a culture of sharing practice and innovation. Manage and support compliance with any external accreditation, registration or applicable service standards. Support staff across the organisation to identify and address practice issues. Contribute to policy and practice development in the community services sector Provide oversight of Berry Street s Heritage Service for past clients REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS This role is based at our Central Office. It is part of the broader Policy, Practice & Innovation Team (PPI). Refer to program structure on the Berry Street intranet. This role reports to the Director Public Policy and Practice Development who will provide supervision and review. This role has two permanent direct reports the Internal Consultant Quality & Service Development and the Heritage Information Officer -as well as time limited project positions. This role also works in conjunction with other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Tertiary qualifications in the social and/or behavioural sciences is essential. Staff must hold a valid WWCC, current drivers licence at all times and undergo a Criminal Records Check prior to employment. Subsequently, staff must report any criminal charges or court appearances. DESIRABLE Experience in delivery of work based training and facilitation of groups is desirable. Management experience in the human services sector.

3 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES describe the key duties that will indicate success in the role. ACCOUNTABILITY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITY Excellence framework Assist the organisation to operationalise Berry Street s Excellence Framework Develop and lead Berry Street s strategic approach to quality improvement & innovation in a manner consistent with the Excellence Framework Quality & Service Innovation Support programs to understand and meet all external compliance and standards requirements including those applicable to CSO Registration Work with the Quality Team (Internal Consultant Quality and Service Development, Internal Consultant Corporate Quality and Risk and the Corporate Quality Coordinator) to undertake internal reviews and coordinate external audits in line with the various requirements of external accreditation bodies Support the implementation of quality plans generated by internal and external assessment and review work Contribute knowledge and understanding of quality indicators and quality improvement to the Berry Street evaluation framework and specific program evaluations Support program areas to analyse and reflect upon program level data and engage them in continuous quality improvement In conjunction with the Quality Team, provide an Annual Quality Report to the Executive Management Team Contribute to service innovation consistent with the Berry Street 2027 Strategic Directions In conjunction with the Director Public Policy & Practice Development, take a leadership role in liaising on behalf of Berry Street with funders in relation to quality systems and processes Practice improvement Support the development and implementation of agency-wide practice improvement initiatives and innovations Monitor the alignment between Berry Street policies, procedures and guidelines and relevant quality assurance standards Collaboratively review and update policies, procedures and guidelines as required Work with programs to ensure that practice related policies, procedures and guidelines support good practice and quality service provision Resource Directors, Senior Managers and other senior staff with briefings on practice issues impacting on service quality Consultancy Provide support, education, induction and training for staff in the use of quality improvement resources, tools and processes Provide consultancy to programs across Berry Street in support of continuous quality improvement and innovation Project manage quality improvement and innovation projects Heritage & records Ensure past clients of Berry Street have timely and supportive access to their records Work with programs to ensure current client records at Berry Street are of a high standard and to take a proactive approach in working Other Provide reports to the Director Public Policy & Practice Development on a monthly basis and to the Executive Management Team and CEO as required Participate in Policy, Practice & Innovation team meetings, Central Office staff meetings, Interest Groups, Berry Street committees, working groups and external meetings and forums as appropriate

4 Utilise internal communication systems to share information on quality and innovation Provide supervision and support to the Internal Consultant Quality and Service Development, the Heritage Innovation Officer, project workers, seconded staff and external consultants as required Undertake Senior Manager secondments within Berry Street s programs Other duties as required

5 CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT 1. This position is for 76 hours per fortnight. It is strongly preferred that these hours are worked over a 5 day working week. 2. You will initially be employed at Central Office in Richmond. You may be required to work from other Berry Street sites (on a temporary or permanent basis) as directed from time to time. 3. Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Berry Street Victoria Enterprise Agreement, which includes above Award payments and eligibility for remuneration packaging. Salary packaging is offered at a rate of 35% of gross salary, as long as packaging does not exceed the $30,000 grossed up limit, in line with our Salary Packaging policy. 4. The base salary for this position is $80, under the Berry Street Victoria Enterprise Agreement. The value of the salary can be increased through salary packaging. 5. The position comes with full private use of a Berry Street vehicle (including petrol). 6. Superannuation will be paid according to Superannuation Guarantee into a compliant fund of your choice or into HESTA Superannuation Fund. 7. The successful applicant will be required to undergo satisfactory pre-employment checks, including 3 professional referees, a pre-existing injury/disease declaration, a criminal records check and proof of identify and qualifications. 8. The successful applicant will initially be employed for a probationary period of 3 months. During this period, either party can terminate employment with one week's notice. A probationary review before 3 months will be undertaken. 9. Under Victorian WorkCover legislation, it is the applicant s duty to advise Berry Street of any pre-existing medical condition, which could be aggravated by the type of employment for which they are applying. The existence of a medical condition will not preclude you from employment, unless you are unable to perform the inherent requirements of the position. However failure to disclose any relevant injury or disease will jeopardise any entitlement you may otherwise have for a work-related aggravation of that non-disclosed pre-existing condition. 10.
