2 Welcome to the Smart Meter Planning and Managment Course The African continent is facing a number of salient challenges ahead within the power sector, which need to be addressed with a sense of urgency. Skills gaps within various levels of management are causing a lack of efficiency, a loss of revenue as well as a loss of investor confidence. It is for this reason that Spintelligent is producing training events to address these skills shortages head on. Our Financing Power Projects training workshop will attract high performers from key utilities across East, West and Southern Africa, offering the ideal context to train, develop and benchmark with leaders in the industry. Course Facilitator: Chidi Ike Chidi Ike is currently an embedded advisor to the Presidential Task Force on Power. As Senior Performance Monitor (market efficiency, energy efficiency and renewable energy) in the Presidential Task Force on Power, his key responsibility is to ensure that the revised energy and efficiency targets, set out in the May 2013 reviewed Roadmap, as published by Presidential Task Force on Power (PTFP), are achieved. The PTFP has a key role to play in monitoring service delivery, reform and the privatization processes. This is with a view to substianially remove the barriers to private sector participation and divestment of government assets. The PTFP is also to ensure the maintenance of service delivery with a robust commercial framework during the electricity market transission and the period to the medium term market. Chidi s educational qualifications include: B.Eng.
