Each course in the GNIIT stream gives you a specific number of credits or points. You can select among different courses, within the defined parameters, for a total of 96 credits the number you need to attain a GNIIT title in any specific stream. Alternatively, you can choose to do shorter courses to achieve different titles which require a lesser number of credits. As the diagrams will illustrate, the power to choose what you wish to study and the title you desire is thanks to GNIIT s unique, modular structure. Of the 96 credits, 40 credits are assigned to Industry Orientation (Professional Practice 1 & 2). GNIIT courses are categorised according to certain clusters: Common Core are the foundation courses that will help you acquire the skills essential across all job streams. Core Disciplinary courses provide the essential understanding, and must-have knowledge and skills, in your specific, chosen stream. As you go further into GNIIT, you can acquire deeper knowledge and skills in the specific areas within your chosen stream through the Disciplinary Electives.
