1 NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HEALTH & FAMILY WELFARE Baba Gang Nath Marg, Munirka, New Delhi Walk-in-Interview National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) is an Autonomous / Apex Technical Institute funded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for promoting Health and Family Welfare Programmes in the country through Education & Training, Research & Evaluation, specialized services, consultancy and advisory services. 2 Experience: Good publications in peer reviewed journals At least 15 years post qualification experience in the field of Policy, Public health, Demography, Population and Health Financing, Monitoring & Evaluation Studies, Advocacy And Social Mobilization.. Desirable Use of Computer Applications/Microsoft Excel/ Statistical Packages (SPSS, SAS, SPECTRUM, METLAB, GIS etc)/ Proficiency in Statistical Analysis Report/ Research papers writing skills Preferred Skills Experience in family planning and reproductive health programs, including managing technical, training, capacity building of research staff at national and sub-national levels along with experience in Policy Analysis and Dialogue, costing studies and various sector assessments Professional consulting skills and proven expertise for technical achievements. Good understanding of health and population sector Skilled with quantitative and/or qualitative research techniques and preparing documents. Excellent planning and organizational abilities, commitment to performance and timely delivery of results. Excellent reporting, networking and interpersonal communication skills. Broad Scope of Work (indicative) Assist Sr. Policy Analyst in administrating the Policy Unit Contribute to Policy Unit through the development and implementation of the project s strategy, program, policies and procedures. Undertaking project related analysis and developing evidence based tools as prioritized by the Policy Unit Advice and support Policy Unit staff in the planning, preparation and monitoring of budgets for various activities. Help organizing the Consultations and Policy Dialogue by Policy Unit and designing the Documents for the same. Analyse the efficiency and health impact of project while effectively leveraging staff and resources and developing strategies that maximize synergies between different areas in health. Identify and pursue opportunities for new cross cutting health interventions. Design the methodology for the various activities for deliverables. Help staff of Policy Unit to develop skills and competencies in analysis of family planning program finances etc Any other responsibilities as per project requirements. Name of the post: Consultant (Demography) No. of Post: 1 (One) Salary: Rs.3500/- per day (20 days per month for 8 months) Qualification: Essential Academic Qualifications PhD in Demography/ Population Sciences/ Statistics Experience At least 8 years post qualification experience of data analysis (using statistical software packages like SPSS/ SAS/SPECTRUM/METLAB/STATA etc) in health sector (especially in Demography & Population Sciences). Proven experience of conducting research studies in the field of family planning, maternal health, population stabilization Desirable Experience in the field of Family Planning and Maternal Health Experience in performing analyses using techniques like Regression Analysis, Principle Component Analysis, Factor Analysis etc on large health and population datasets Experience in Policy Analysis, Costing studies & Documentation Preferred skills Ability to multi-task and work independently Sense of urgency to meet goals, objectives, and deadlines Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills Broad Scope of Work (indicative) Assist the Sr. Policy Analyst and Consultant (Policy/ Public health) with data analysis for development of policy briefs so that approved work-plan is implemented in time. Collect and analyze statistical data Review and documentation of research projects Review and compilation of various policy/ program / outcome documents on population. Name of the post: Technical Assistant No. of Post: 1 (One) Salary: Rs.1100/- per day (20 days per month for 8 months) Qualification: Essential Academic Qualifications Graduate with Diploma in Computer Application from recognized institute Experience At least 2 years post qualification experience in related field Preferred skills Expertise in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.) Ability to multi-task and work independently Sense of urgency necessary to meet goals, objectives, and deadlines Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills Broad Scope of Work (indicative) Mapping of resources, developing a resource pool of data required by the Policy Unit. Undertake visits to the respective states and districts, participate in the workshops, trainings and review meetings as per the requirements. Assist Consultants in the work Data entry work & making review of relevant literature. Assist in communication / preparing draft letter for organization work etc. Any other responsibilities as per project requirements. Age limit: upto 40 years 4. Name of the post Multi-Task Staff No. of Post: 1 (One) Salary: Rs.10,000/- to Rs.13,000/- per month Qualification: Essential Academic Degrees: Minimum 10 th Pass Desirable To work on Computer, Fax and Photocopy machines. 5 Experience: At least 3 years post qualification experience of working in a government/semi-government/autonomous organization showing evidence in support of jobs mentioned in scope of work. Broad Scope of Work (indicative) Physical maintenance of records of the Policy Unit. General cleanliness & upkeep of the Unit. Carrying of files & other papers Delivery of Dak Photocopying, sending of FAX etc. Assisting in routine office work like diary, despatch etc. Any other work assigned by the Policy Unit. Age limit: 30 years Goals and Objectives of the Unit The Mission of the Policy Unit is to improve quality of life of people through sustainable health and population development efforts through research and evidence generation for policies, programs both at center and state levels. Objectives To steer evidence based policy analysis, advocacy, and multi-sectoral coordination for sustainable health and population development at the national/sub-national level and with special focus on the high priority states. To create a network of Policy Units in States and informed champions among senior political and administrative leaders at national and state levels to promote appropriate health and population development strategies. To engage and strengthen capacity of select State Institutes of Health and Family Welfare (SIHFW) towards greater role in evidence based policy analysis, advocacy and inter sectoral coordination for improving health and family planning services.
