12 Agenda item SIM Conclusions [continued] Regular training and awareness activities at sub-regional level in Central America and in the Caribbean in coordination with SIM Legal Metrology Working Group, OIML/BIML should be invited to SIM workshops and seminars on legal metrology and those organized at a sub-regional level. Seminars should focus on creating awareness among policymakers, not just among metrologists. Study ways to make more Spanish (and e.g. Dutch and Portuguese) documents widely available, Pool of SIM resources to translate Recommendations into Spanish? SIM GA

15 New Projects Approves as a new project in TC 9/SC 1 Non-automatic weighing instruments the revision of R 76:2006 Non-automatic weighing instruments. Requests the Project Group to advise how best to ensure that R 76 can be used by those involved in verification and inspection, and Records its wish that this work on verification and inspection should not delay the completion of the rest of the R 76 revision. 18 CEEMS Advisory Group The Advisory Group acts as aninterim bodythat provides advice to the OIML on the matters of countries and economies with emerging metrology systems especially for the following matters: SIM GA

19 CEEMS Advisory Group to propose recommendations in respect of OIML policies affecting developing countries; to guide and assist developing countries to establish and/or improve their national metrological systems; to seek funding from all OIML Member States and relevant international aid organizations; to provide aid resources for developing countries and organize aid activities; to promote awareness of the role of metrology among the public and governments of developing countries; SIM GA

20 CEEMS Advisory Group to enhance the enthusiasm of developing countries to participate in OIML activities; to promote the adoption of OIML International Recommendations and Documents in developing countries; to propose consultation with and suggestions to Regional Legal Metrology Organizations (RLMOs) in respect of their activities affecting developing countries; to investigate the cooperation intentions and needs of all OIML Member States and economies, especially the needs of developing countries. 27 Resolution 2015/10 Recommendations to Member States and other organisations (2/2) Endorses the Advisory Group proposal for a pilot training center and encourages China to give full support to this initiative Two events in China have been very successful see reports provided under other items Urges other Member States to study this pilot and to consider whether they are able to do something similar Possibilities in East Africa, North Africa, India and COOMET region already identified SIM GA

28 CEEMS Advisory Group Composition of the Group The Advisory Group will consist of: the CIML President and Vice-Presidents (ex officio); the Director of the BIML (ex officio); a representative nominated by each of the RLMOs; other volunteers among the CIML Members; other experts co-opted by the group to serve in a personal capacity. All group members (except those who are ex officio) are appointed, nominated or co-opted for a three-year term with the possibility of reappointment for three-year terms without limitation. SIM GA

29 The Future 1. OIML will continue to be guided by CIML Resolution 2015/10 in developing its strategy on matters relating to the CEEMS community 2. The Advisory Group will continue to be the focus of much of the activity within OIML on matters of interest to countries and economies with emerging metrology systems 3. Co-operation with others -international organisations, regional organisations and bilateral arrangements with individual Member States -will be the cornerstone of the OIML approach, with the Special Projects Fund used to facilitate such cooperative initiatives SIM GA
