1 POST DSCRPTON Job Title: Quality Manager Responsible to: xecutive Director of Quality mprovement and nnovation Responsible for: N/ 1. Job Purpose: To lead on the effective implementation of Grimsby nstitute Groups drive to provide outstanding success for its learners, employers and community stakeholders To lead on the effective implementation of GG s internal quality improvement and assurance programme across the full learner journey encompassing all areas of Group provision and all delivery sites To act as a quality improvement lead in a specified faculty, taking responsibility with the ssociate Principal for the performance of that faculty and its associated provision Challenge mediocrity and complacence across the organisation Work with Quality colleagues to provide a seamless, ambitious and innovative quality team which delivers excellence as standard To move the specified faculty to achieve outstanding performance in the following areas: o Retention o chievement o Success o Learner and mployer Voice o Quality of Teaching, Learning and ssessment o ttendance o Data cleanliness o Progression o Destinations o Value added and high grades o t risk learners o quality and Diversity o Safeguarding o Health and Safety o Curriculum design o Work xperience

Key Responsibilities 2.1 To take an active role with the Director of Quality mprovement and Quality team to develop a robust self-assessment/quality improvement plan and curriculum plan 2.2 To be the Quality nominee in relation to specified warding Organisations 2.3 To analyze performance and report on progress against Key Performance indicators/targets to the Senior Management Team and Faculty Management Team as appropriate 2.4 To review, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Group s internal quality improvement and assurance procedures on an annual basis to ensure robustness, currency and fitness for purpose 2.5 ct as an internal verifier or moderator if required and ensure V/M procedures are robust and rigorous 2.6 To provide focused support for curriculum areas which have been identified through the quality assurance process as requiring support to improve or require direct intervention 2.7 To ensure the College s assessment and approval procedures are aligned with warding Organisation regulations and include any partners involved in the education and training of college learners, including third part providers, employers of work-based learners, work experience providers, schools provision and H provision 2.8 To lead internal quality assurance audits identifying key themes for improvement and to ensure compliance with College systems and best practice 2.9 To support the curriculum planning process and lead on the approval of new provision purchased 2.10 To manage the process for applications to ward Organisations for new course/centre updates 2.11 To support excellence in faculty level learner and employer voice 2.12 To act as a liaison/contact point for assigned curriculum areas for warding Organisations to ensure quality and to communicate all developments to appropriate colleagues 2.13 To act as a liaison/contact point for assigned curriculum areas for warding Organisations to ensure quality and to communicate all developments to appropriate colleagues 2.14 To disseminate best practice in terms of Teaching, Learning and ssessment 2.15 To manage risk of the internal quality improvement process ensuring consistency across all aspects of the Group s provision 2.16 To work in partnership with the other Quality Managers to support the Group s drive to improve learning, teaching and assessment to impact on student and Group success 2.17 To carry out observations and walkthroughs of learning activity in line with the Quality ssurance and mprovement strategy

3 2.18 To deliver training to curriculum and cross college teams as part of the Staff Development programme 2.19 To liaise with MS, xams/student Records and the warding Organisations to ensure effective, efficient and timely registrations and unit/qualification claims 2.20 To ensure all external verifier visits across College are planned, reports are collected and the findings disseminated across College and actions completed 2.21 To champion the use of e-assessment and e-learning across the Group 2.22 To lead the development and delivery of an effective workforce development programme, in conjunction with the Head of Learning and Teaching mprovement, informed by V reports, the performance management framework and self-assessment, strongly focusing on updating assessors and verifiers skills, disseminating best practice and improving performance 2.23 To support operationally on self-regulation and external audit/inspection 2.24 To work collaboratively with other Senior Managers within the Quality Team to underpin the Quality ssurance and mprovement Strategy across College 2.25 To establish and develop an chievement Monitoring Group which will promote the highest standards for learners by focusing on the quality of assessment and ensure timely achievement and clear progress for learners 2.26 To promote teamwork through regular meeting with curriculum and quality teams To comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements To apply the college s own safeguarding policy and practices and attend training as requested 2.29 To show a commitment to diversity, equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practices. The post-holder is expected to comply with and promote GG s College s quality & Diversity policy in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities 2.30 To take responsibility either individually or collectively with colleagues for large or small scale equality and diversity events 2.31 To prepare papers as required for key Senior Management Team or Governors Meetings 2.32 To take responsibility for one s own professional development and continually update as necessary, participating in appropriate staff development activities as required including the Performance and Development Review 2.33 To promote a positive image of the College and the work that is carried out across its various services

4 2.34 To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the job 2.35 Specific requirements in respect of PDR and Health and Safety are included in the actual contract of employment 3. Budget Responsibility The post has no specific budget responsibility other than the general requirement to ensure that any spending they are responsible for is undertaken in accordance with the Group s purchasing and financial regulations 4. Continuing Professional Development 5.1 The post holder will proactively take part in the Group ppraisal process and will appraise any staff they are responsible for 5.2 The post holder must undertake all training deemed mandatory by the Group (e.g. Safeguarding, quality and Diversity and Health and Safety) and will be expected to attend all other relevant training and continuous professional development events. They are responsible for their own professional updating 5. Health and Safety 6.1 The post holder will be required: To take reasonable care to safeguard their own safety and that of others with whom they work; To cooperate with designated officers named by the Governors and/or the Principal and any other designated nstitute manager to enable the nstitute to comply with its obligations under Health and Safety legislation. Not to interfere with or to misuse anything provided in the interests of health and safety or welfare.
