1 JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Post Number: Department Location: Grade: Salary: Tenure: Hours Accountable to: Assistant Registry Officer (Assessment & Awards) SY003 Academic Registry Llandaff Campus 3A/B 19,485-23,164 per annum pro rata Fixed Term (01 May August 2017) 37 hours Registry Operations Manager (Assessment and Awards) Role Summary: To deliver and promote Academic Registry, predominantly, within the Assessment and Awards unit at Cardiff Metropolitan University by providing quality and customer-focused services. To support the Assessment & Award processes in compliance with regulations and procedures. To support the teamwork of the Assessment & Awards Unit in particular and support other Academic Registry requirements from time to time. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. To identify and coordinate the production of student transcripts and certificates by the required deadlines.

2 2. To be responsible for maintaining records of those students for inclusion in the Award/Graduation Ceremony Programme. 3. To support the Registry Officer in relation to the administration of Graduation Ceremonies. 4. Communicate to students and stakeholders information pertaining to ceremonies and the application process. This may require the post holder to converse with groups of students and staff. 5. To support the administration of overseas examinations. 6. To assist with the support for Examining Boards, Examinations and Graduation. This may require the post holder to work additional hours during these events and from any of Cardiff Metropolitan Campuses. 7. Ensure a professional, timely and customer-focused response to enquiries received, and to answer or refer these appropriately. 8. To assist with the preparation of relevant management and statistical information. 9. To assist with the preparation and administration of Higher Education Achievement Record (HEAR). 10. To assist with the preparation of Viva Voce. 11. Any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post. Understanding of the application of Information Technology in a Higher Education environment. Awareness of Quality Standards Knowledge Understanding of Academic Registry functions.

4 Skills & Abilities Excellent written and oral communication skills. Interpersonal skills, possessing a courteous and helpful approach. Ability to act as a responsible member of a team Proficient IT skills including MS office applications Ability to undertake routine manual and automated administrative processes.
