The Construction group is responsible for the provision of project management, construction, decommissioning of assets and civil maintenance services across the Connections program, to deliver capital works and asset decommissioning programs. The primary purpose of this role is to actively develop and manage the delivery of on-farm work projects. On farm projects typically involve performing civil, mechanical and electrical works on privately owned properties to facilitate supply of irrigation water from a changed service point arrangement to allow meter or channel decommissioning. This role reports to the Construction Senior Program Manager. It is expected that the Project Manager will actively manage the scope development, engagement, design, approvals, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities as required to complete on-farm projects. Key Accountabilities Manage large complex multidisciplinary capital works projects including management of costs, time, quality, risk and stakeholders within agreed constraints. Coordinate customer involvement and community consultation in relation to projects, including representing Goulburn-Murray Water in high level external forums. Preparation of procurement strategies, specifications, tender/contract documentation, tender evaluations and the administration and supervision of contracts including fulfilling the role of contract Superintendent. Engage and supervise consultants and contractors who will be responsible for investigation, design, construction and commissioning of large construction projects

2 Undertake complex investigations, designs, preparation of cost estimates and technical reports and provide technical advice to management to guide strategic decision making Ensure statutory planning, environmental and cultural heritage approvals are obtained for projects and OHS is managed appropriately Position Capabilities The GMW Capability Framework applies to all employees. Mandatory Requirements Valid Australian work rights, or eligibility to acquire valid Australian work rights Completion of a tertiary qualification in civil engineering or project management; OR extensive and relevant experience in the project management of civil works design and construction. Experience using Microsoft Office, especially MS Project, Excel and Word Valid driver s licence Other relevant requirements (Preferred/Desired Requirements) Experience in investigation, survey, design and construction management of water infrastructure projects will be highly regarded An in-depth understanding of on-farm irrigation infrastructure and irrigation practices The position is predominantly an office based role, however field visits will be required which may involve driving for extended periods Ability to deal with and manage conflict effectively Frequent dealings with external stakeholders and members of the public will be required Effective in the supervision of internal staff, consultants and contractors. Competent in analysing complex information and writing reports to inform management decisions, especially with regard to projects and programs of work. High level of awareness of and adherence to legislation and all of GMW policies and procedures relevant to the duties undertaken. 4
