SPRING 2016 WORLD VISION INTERNSHIPS (Monrovia, CA) World Vision Internships provide a three-month opportunity for exceptional students and recent graduates ready to explore a career in the international relief and development sector. DETAILS & ELIGIBILITY: Dates: February 1 April 29, 2016 Stipend: All US-based interns are paid a monthly stipend of $750 Page 1/9

2 Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (24-40 hours/week) Location: Internships will be based in Los Angeles (Monrovia, CA) Eligibility: All candidates must meet the following requirements: At least 18 years of age Able to commit to a minimum of 24 hours per week Eligible to work in the United States (US Citizen/resident or F1-student visa) Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate/graduate program (within 2 years) Adhere to the Christian Statement of Faith required by all World Vision International employees SPRING 2016 INTERNSHIPS (Monrovia, CA) Governance Intern Eligible Candidates: Current college student or recent college graduate Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Business Administration, International Development, Political Science, Public Administration/Policy, Spanish The Governance Department is actively working with National Offices and their boards to support their oversight structures and decision making. The intern will mainly be focused on department projects such as: (1) Review and analysis of existing governance resources to contribute to online resource library and an archival version that will be available to boards and National Office staff worldwide. (2) Utilize writing skills and creativity to develop a short e-learning course that focuses on a best practice in Governance. (3) Serve as primary correspondent with National Office board contacts to research and collect board information, including member composition, meetings documents and evidence of performance. (4) Make improvements to board member database and track updates. (5) Develop useful presentations and other resources for department. (6) Spanish language skills are desirable as many of the resources are created for the Latin American National Offices. Page 2/9

3 Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Intern: Eligible Candidates: Current college student, recent college graduate or current graduate student/completed graduate program Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: GIS/Geography, Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, Communications, interests in the field of technology and/or GIS This position will contribute to the use of GIS at World Vision. This position will support the Ministry Support & Integration team with the purpose of helping World Vision staff in the field utilize and benefit from GIS and technology. Support the creation of GIS training materials for World Vision Staff. Collect and document best practices of GIS at World Vision. Research leading GIS technology platforms for use at World Vision, and produce a final report outlining competitive landscapes and recommendations. Create maps and reports to special projects including those that promote improved decision making in the field. Global Treasury & Finance Intern: Eligible Candidates: Recent college graduate or current graduate student/completed graduate program. Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Finance, Economics, Business Intern will have responsibilities in two areas: Cash Management and Risk Management. Within Cash Management assist with the current Request for Proposal (RFP) process concerning bank consolidation across the organisation. Participate in data gathering and analysis to inform the RFP process. This will provide exposure to international banking and detailed insight into banking operations. Within Risk Management conduct market research and compile economic research.

4 Communicate and interact with National Office Finance teams as they work through the foreign exchange hedging process for FY16. Global Supply Chain Management Intern: Eligible Candidates: Current college student, recent college graduate or current graduate student/completed graduate program Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Finance World Vision's GSCM team is dedicated to ensuring that World Vision's programmes and responses around the world get the goods and services they need when needed, where needed and at the right price. The supply chain team manages thousands of suppliers, hundreds of purchasers and a complex logistics network. Implement new Contract Management System for Global Procurement within Coupa (cloud-based procurement and supply chain software Design numbering system for tracking and reviewing purposes. Create purchase orders in collaboration with suppliers. Liaise with National and Regional Offices to receive contracts. Develop monitoring system for contracts and renewals. Communications Intern, Global Supply Chain Management: Eligible Candidates: Current college student, recent college graduate or current graduate student/completed graduate program Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Business, Communication, English, Marketing World Vision's GSCM team is dedicated to ensuring that World Vision's programmes and responses around the world get the goods and services they need when needed, where needed and at the right price. The supply chain team manages thousands of suppliers, hundreds of purchasers and a complex logistics network. The Intern will work with the Supply Chain Management team's communication officer and other team members to help

5 communicate policy changes, successes and challenges that World Vision faces in terms of its supply chains. Help to create and edit content for both casual and formal communication channels. Help manage stakeholders to ensure that communication pieces are reaching the appropriate audience. Collect stories about World Vision's supply chain from World Vision staff worldwide. The GSCM intern will help synthesize complicated technical information into clear and concise copy. The intern will help to shape GSCM's general communication plan and knowledge management priorities. HR Information Systems Intern: Eligible Candidates: Current graduate student/completed graduate program Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, International Technology Our intern will not be treated as just an intern! You will be a key member of our team, and will be assigned as a business analyst to specific tasks, deliverables and business problems within the context of a global human resources information system (HRIS) implementation. You will have ownership over your own work and will have assignments with expected scope, timelines and tangible deliverables that will be required as a member of the project team. Deliverables are to be produced timely and with quality. You will be assigned requirements outside of the scope of the project to participate in, such as pertinent reading material, personal/professional development tasks, and others as agreed with your manager. You will be expected to lead some devotional sessions as part of team meetings. Required skills: excellent oral and written communication abilities, advanced analytical skills and ability to work independently in a virtual work environment. HR Operations Intern: Page 5/9

Interested in learning about leadership development and talent acquisition/recruiting? You will work as a key member of our team as we develop and coordinate weekly internship programming including our World Vision Speaker Series, Professional Development Seminars, Intern Cohort Sessions and more! Specific responsibilities include: Support the overall coordination of the Spring 2016 Internship Programme. Support recruiting efforts for the Summer 2016 Internship Programme. Communicate relevant information to all interns in the US-based offices with regard to cohort session details, schedules and weekly activities. 7 People & Organizational Development Intern: Eligible Candidates: Current college student, recent college graduate, or graduate student Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Communications, Education, Human Resources Assist in the design and development of resources/support materials for the Global Leader Orientation (GLO), and Management Essentials Develop communication strategy and marketing materials for programmes across the Leadership & Executive Development portfolio elearning: Evaluate existing elearning resources. Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the Partnership to develop engaging elearning resources for use across the People and Organization Development, Talent & Learning portfolio Assessment Create communication and training materials to support the implementation of a new Manager 360 survey. Develop tools to assist managers and leaders with development planning that incorporates data from 360 feedback. Conduct analysis of existing Leadership 360 feedback to determine trends and priorities development areas for programme enhancements. Spiritual Nurture of Children Intern: Eligible Candidates: Graduate student/completed graduate program Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Child Development, Religious Studies, Biblical Studies, Missiological Studies, International Studies Explore promising practices for Spiritual Nurture of Children (SNC) across WVI through: Working together with various WV National/Regional Offices and stakeholder implementing promising practices, Identifying connection areas between these practices and the SNC framework (3) Identifying promising practices that can translate into to project models. Create a complete electronic library of the above-mentioned promising practices across World Vision International

8 (WVI) that contributes directly to SNC (project designs, modules reports, stories etc.) Create SNC communication pieces for Christian Commitments (CC), Child Development and Rights (CDR), and the SNC interest group newsletters Strategy, Collaboration & Innovation Intern: Eligible Candidates: Current graduate student or completed graduate program Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Business, International Development, International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration/Policy The overall mission of the Global Office of Strategy, Collaboration & Innovation is to plan and navigate World Visions future in the International Development space. GOSCI acts as an internal consulting firm, working with leaders on the most challenging problems and promising opportunities to help propel the organisation forward achieving its mission. We focus on both short planning horizons (i.e. 5 years or less) as well as long-term planning (i.e years). Support the Global Office of Strategy, Collaboration, and Innovation (GOSC&I) through ongoing projects to assist the Futurist. Provide a competitive analysis of peer NGOs working in the global development sector (3) Provide strategic analysis of Child Sponsorship data as well as other business and ministry functions. Support the Director of Operations with various projects. Contribute updates to the GOSC&I Community of Practice page on WVI intranet. Business Process Improvement Intern, Global Information & Technology: Eligible Candidates: Current college student, recent college graduate, or graduate student Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Business, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology This work is part of a larger effort to improve performance of World Vision processes through the application of Lean Six Sigma and IT automation. We will likely be working on IT processes, Grants Acquisition & Management processes, and processes related to measuring and learning from evidence of the impact of our work in communities. Intern will: Assist with developing online process training. Assist with analyzing, improving and reporting process performance. Assist with developing & documenting standard processes and templates.
