1 Job description Assistant Director - Recruitment Context INTO University Partnerships works with leading UK and US universities, investing in the development of world-class international student centres. With a clear focus on and commitment to the delivery of the highest quality of student experience, we specialise in preparing students for undergraduate and postgraduate study at partner institutions. Reporting line Employed by INTO University of Stirling, the post holder reports to the Centre Director. Job purpose Based in the INTO University of Stirling Centre, the Assistant Director Recruitment will work closely with the Centre Director to develop and implement strategies to recruit international students to INTO University of Stirling in line with the strategy of the Joint Venture. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the Global Recruitment Unit to monitor and drive student recruitment performance and to provide business insight into performance through comprehensive analysis. Key accountabilities The following tasks provide a general overview of the types of activity the successful applicant will be expected to engage in on a day to day basis. The tasks are not an exhaustive list of responsibilities, as all employees are required to be flexible, dynamic and have the capacity to think creatively when presented with challenges. Management Display a strong, creative and proactive approach to management together with excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication and motivational skills. Promote best practice in all aspects of work, championing role-model behaviour. Build sound knowledge of all areas of the business and understand business challenges (Commercial, Financial and Economic). Utilise a structured approach to managing individual and team performance. Organise and deliver strategic internal meetings, either face to face or via web conferences. Deliver key input to the Joint Venture Board Management Committee, Centre Senior Management Team and partner University meetings as appropriate. Page 1 of 5

2 Manage key relationships within the Centre, with INTO Admissions, INTO Regional Offices, INTO Global Recruitment Unit, University International Offices and schools/faculties. Manage an allocated marketing budget within agreed guidelines ensuring that expenditure maximises return on investment. Be responsible for the line management of a Recruitment Manager and Marketing Co-ordinator. Student Recruitment Meet or exceed annual student enrolment targets through effective sales strategies. Liaise with Centre Programme Heads to drive recruitment. Commit to the on-going improvement of personal sales skills through training opportunities. Work with Regional Recruitment Teams to drive activity that ensures centre enrolment targets are met. Undertake significant overseas travel to support recruitment and promotional activities. Utilise excellent presentation and business writing skills. Maximise sales development and product development opportunities. Deliver strategic input into the launch of new products. Facilitate communication between Centre Director and Regional Recruitment Directors to drive key recruitment strategies. Analyse, recommend and present marketing or advertising opportunities. Provide ongoing training, support and detailed product knowledge to INTO Global Recruitment staff. Marketing Work with Centre Director to drive a strategic marketing campaign for the Centre. Develop tactical marketing campaigns to promote Centre initiatives. Liaise proactively with INTO Marketing Directorate to ensure the Centre is represented appropriately in print and digital media. Produce marketing and recruitment reports as required by the Centre Director. Customer Service Liaise closely with INTO Admissions to encourage an efficient, customer-centred approach to the student application and enrolment process. Assist Regional Offices to ensure agents receive the appropriate levels of customer service. Present a professional and positive image of INTO University of Exeter at all times. Suggest and make improvements to customer service at all levels within the organisation. Work with the Centre Director to ensure the Centre delivers an outstanding student experience as measured by the student surveys. Relationships Cultivate and maintain solid, loyal relationships with Global Recruitment staff and their representatives. Develop and maintain close working relationships with the University of Stirling, including international officers, admissions, academic and marketing staff. Work co-operatively and supportively with Centre staff to ensure good channels of communication and exchange of relevant data. Page 2 of 5

Location The postholder will be based at INTO University of Stirling. The nature of the work will require significant overseas travel plus additionally some travel within the UK. Salary BAND E: 35,937 to 48,620. Experience & achievements Experience of holding responsibility for the development of plans and programmes in a customer service environment. Demonstrable experience of successful international sales. Recent experience in recruiting international students from diverse countries in a student services or other specialist advisory capacity. Experience of working with international students on pre-university courses. Skills An awareness of issues in marketing educational services in an international context. Exceptional time management skills. Excellent command of written and spoken English. Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint Competence in the interpretation of management information.
