Qualicoat outlines and approves the minimum criteria for the critical elements of powder application, including: pre-treatment, plant, powder, process control and testing. The powders and pre-treatment systems are also tested and approved, so a Qualicoat licence supports the warranty provided by suppliers. The AISF provides support and guidance to applicators wanting to obtain Qualicoat approval, so any compliant applicator can achieve certification. Accreditation Program for Powder Coaters This program enables businesses to implement and maintain a system to control their powder coating processes. Each coater is rated according to their ability to meet the coating performance requirements based on criteria laid out in a Matrix similar to AS4506 and AS3715, the Australian Powder Coating Standards. This provides customers and specifiers a way to ascertain the capability of a powder coating contractor. It also provides the powder coaters a clear pathway to improve their processes to meet the various levels of coating performance. Coaters are formally recognised for their level of competence.
