Guided by an inspiring strategic plan and administered by a professional community of talented faculty, staff and senior executives, Camosun enrolls 19,000 learners each year, including over 1,200 Indigenous students and 1,900 International students. The College has an operating budget of over $126 million. Across two campuses, Camosun offers more than 160 certificate, diploma, and bachelor s degree programs in arts, sciences, business, health and human services, trades, technologies, sport education, Indigenous studies and adult upgrading. POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Manager, International Partnerships and Projects (MIPP) / International Strategic Enrolment (MISE) the Global Partnerships Specialist will work as a member of the Global Consulting and Partnerships team with particular responsibility for assisting in the identification, maintenance and development of international partnerships. Key objectives of this position are revenue generation through business development and to enhance the exposure of the Camosun College brand internationally. This is done by liaising with current partners and developing new partnerships worldwide leading to short and long

2 term student programs, both overseas and in Canada, teacher training and other academic training opportunities. The Global Partnerships Specialist (GPS) will be responsible for representing Camosun College to international educational institutions, agents and international consultants and may include, representing Camosun at recruitment events, educational fairs, seminars, in targeted recruitment markets. The GPS represents the College during business negotiations and has limited authority to bind the College in negotiations. Note: this position entails periods of independent travel to key markets as determined in the Camosun International strategy. The full job description follows below. B) REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Provides functional guidance and supervision to at least 1.0 FTE (administrative support) and short term contract hires as required. C) ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Business Development 1. Develops new and effective strategies for revenue generating cohort pathways and contract training business opportunities 2. Assists in developing new and effective strategies to identify academic pathways and contract training business opportunities. 3. Conducts on-going research, evaluation and assessment of current international markets and emerging international markets. 4. Recommends viable business partnership opportunities to MIPP/MISE to meet recruitment objectives, enrolment targets and diversification benchmarks. 5. Interprets and analyzes data from a variety of sources to determine the most effective utilization of available resources to support the Camosun internationalization strategy; 6. Compiles information and reports on identified markets and partnerships 7. Pursues and cultivates relationships with assigned markets through targeted meetings and presentations 8. Implements strategies for assigned markets and serves as the first point of contact on behalf of the College 9. Represents Camosun College at international student recruitment and study abroad activities when required. 10. Manages international student applications in accordance with Canadian privacy laws. 11. Oversees international prospective student leads generated by a diverse range of recruitment activities Program Administration 12. Contributes to and assists with the development of the annual plan for International Contract Training and outbound mobility initiatives 13. Assists with the development and maintenance of international recruitment content on electronic, digital and printed communications 14. Participates on relevant internal and external Committees related to the international education sector. 15. Assists in building and maintaining strong relationships with partner academic institutions, international education agents, international consultants and BC and Canadian Trade Commissioners providing them with information and training with respect to Camosun College programs and training opportunities. 16. Participates in the planning, communicating, and hosting of visiting delegations from international partners and others interested in international partnership opportunities with Camosun.

5 17. Contributes to the development of the budget for the international pathways and partnerships activities. D) OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Designated to act as Manager, International Partnerships and Projects /International Strategic Enrolment as required. -Other duties as required. E) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1. Excellent communicator, in writing and verbally. 2. Well-developed presentation skills for groups of up to 200 people. 3. Extensive knowledge of the Canadian post-secondary education system, and the BC college system in particular, and how it relates to the systems of other countries 4. Extensive knowledge of Canadian regulations and procedures related to international education and approvals for long and short term study in Canada. 5. Excellent problem-solving and diplomacy skills. 6. The ability to negotiate within new cultures, environments, and situations quickly and with confidence. 7. Knowledge of web-based recruitment techniques, software and tools. 8. Ability to travel independently in challenging settings for extended periods of time. 9. Demonstrated ability to build credible rapport with government, international educational partners and agents. 10. Demonstrated ability to research, evaluate and make conclusions regarding new marketing and partnership opportunities 11. Ability to network effectively and confidently with government and business leaders in a variety of settings and to represent the college in a positive manner. 12. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team with colleagues in a complex, dynamic environment. 13. Advanced computer skills F) QUALIFICATIONS 1. Bachelor s Degree in a relevant field. Course work or professional development in cross-cultural communication and public relations. 2. Experience living, working or studying abroad. 3. Demonstrated success in student recruitment activities in a variety of markets. 4. Eligibility and willingness to undertake extensive domestic and international travel (requiring a valid passport). 5. Experience working with educational agents 6. A second language is strongly preferred. 7. BC Driver s License, with preference given to those with a Class 4.

6 8. Accreditation as a Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA) or a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) preferred.
