The team assists executive and senior management with translating corporate vision into desired outcomes, through the optimum deployment of their people. The team serves the two justice ministries of Attorney General and Solicitor General, and their associated Agencies, Boards and Commissions. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Provide advice, issues management, policy interpretation, strategic human resource planning, and consultation services to help clients as they seek business-oriented solutions to their mid- and long-term people requirements. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES The position is accountable to the Assistant Deputy Minister to: lead operational activities, including oversight of the internal and external communications on strategic human resource management; set goals, objectives and work plans; manage a budget of $3.2 million; exercise spending authority; assign priorities, resources and accountabilities consistent with the priorities established by the Assistant Deputy Minister lead a team of 5 human resource professionals and office staff develop multi-year human resource management plans for client ministries represent the ministries interests on government-wide and cross-government issues pertaining to people management and leadership development oversee the negotiation, management and monitoring of Service Agreements with the BC Public Service Agency; identify improvements to service content, quality and delivery advise executive and senior managers on people management issues; recommend people management strategies to address outstanding or emerging issues to meet ministries strategic objectives; direct information gathering and analysis to support strategic human resource planning; establish regular reporting influence corporate policy development with the BC Public Service Agency liaise with union representatives on employee/employer matters, such as workforce adjustment, as cochair of the Article 29 Committee EJ #21 Director, Strategic Human Resources
