8 In 1986, Patrick Sherrill a troubled part-time postal letter carrier shocked the world when he shot and killed 14 co-workers, wounding 6 others before killing himself, making the NATION realize that workplace violence is a REAL THREAT. It requires a strategic plan and preventative workplace violence prevention training. This incident has been identified as the source of the phrase going postal.
