The ideal candidate for the Financial Controller position will have experience in preparing monthend and year-end close and reporting processes. This position will work closely with the CFO (who is based out of state) to develop and oversee a best-in-class finance function, support the finance/accounting team to offer guidance as necessary, and work with divisional leaders in support of budgets and forecasts. This position will assist with and contribute to the upgrading of systems, controls, and procedures as well as provide timely reporting and analysis of monthly financial results. The key desirable and preferred requirements for this position include: Bachelor s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline; advance degree preferred. Five years experience in a senior accounting or financial management role; public accounting experience advantageous. DCAA/DCMA government accounting experience preferred. 2 Strong accounting and financial control expertise and business acumen. Knowledgeable in local, state, and federal government reporting requirements for multiple locations and across various entities. Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective relationships with managers and key stakeholders. Strong presentation skills; ability to present financial information to key stakeholders. Ability to work independently. Strong PC skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with cloud-based file sharing and virtual office environment. QuickBooks Enterprise knowledge a plus. The successful candidate for this position must be able to travel to and relocate to Reno, Nevada. TacAir will not provide reimbursement for travel or relocation expenses. Position Summary Under general direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Financial Controller will perform monthend and year-end close and reporting process as well provide analytical support to the company. This position will work closely with the CFO to develop and oversee a best-in-class finance function, support the finance/accounting team to offer guidance as necessary, and work with divisional leaders in support of budgets and forecasts. 4 Five years experience in a senior accounting or financial management role; public accounting experience advantageous. Equivalent combination of training, education, and experience in a relevant field or industry. DCAA/DCMA government accounting experience preferred. CPA certification, or ability to obtain a CPA certification within 12 months, preferred. Familiarity or experience with private, equity-back companies advantageous. Essential Functions Required The essential functions for this position may include, but are not limited to: Manage the development of budgets, forecasts, and KPIs with overall responsibility for the ongoing monitoring of any variances. Responsibility for profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow for all individual companies and on a consolidated basis. Prepare and publish monthly reporting and shareholder packs within established timeframes and deadlines. Prepare and produce presentations to key stakeholders. Coordinate preparation of regulatory filings and reporting. Manage and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements for multiple locations and across all entities of the company. Manage annual audit process. Support the RFP process for new business. Ensure proper cost allocation of expenses to relevant cost pools and companies. Develop policies and procedures to ensure efficient, effective financial management for the entire organization. Develop and implement scalable, robust finance systems. Effectively manage expenditures and cash flows. Serve as financial liaison to provide expertise on accounting, control issues, and strategic information requests as needed. Ability to lead budgetary management and control within the company. Strong public speaking and meeting facilitation skills. Knowledgeable in managing and maintaining records of inventory and heavy assets. Knowledgeable in Sales, Use, and Property Tax regulations. Strong analytical skills. Strong PC-based computer skills; proficiency utilizing various software such as Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills; web-based /calendar applications; virtual office/cloud-based file sharing (i.e., G-Suite/Google for Work, Google Hangouts, GoTo Meeting, etc.); accounting software (i.e., QuickBooks Enterprise); database management systems; Internet research. Ability to manage files and maintain records in compliance with standard or required recordkeeping practices. Strong, effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with emphasis on sharing or transmitting technical information to various audiences and ability to influence senior stakeholders. 5 Ability to plan and carry work through to completion with accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to comfortably manage multiple tasks and projects utilizing time management and organization skills. Knowledge of proper telephone and practices and etiquette. Supervisory Responsibility This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. Physical Demands Extended periods of sitting. Extended use of desktop/laptop computer and peripheral equipment. Extended periods of reading and analyzing fine print. Occasional stooping, standing, and carrying. Occasional lifting, with assistance. Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms. Frequently required to actively talk, listen, and hear. Regularly ascend/descend stairs. Work Environment While performing the duties of this position, employees may encounter the following, but not limited to, work situations: Face-paced, high-energy, office environment. Aircraft hangar or warehouse environment with exposure to loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate (hot/cold), and trip or slip hazards. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Regular evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be required. Occasional travel to various work sites throughout the U.S. may be required. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance may be required.
