By 2020 we aim to: Have increased our support for the most vulnerable and in need by tenfold Distribute our resources to over one million people annually Respond to over 100,000 enquires each year Double the number of regular visits and calls to lonely older people ncrease our influence on government Our values Work Together "We work together internally and with outside partners to achieve big results" Trust and Respect xxxxx "We act with honesty, openness and integrity and recognise the contribution each of us makes" Older People and ndependence "We put older people at the heart of everything we do" Think Big "We are bold, willing to take responsibility and to adapt Be ffective when we need to" "We deliver a high quality service, using our resources well to deliver value" Job Purpose The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of financial and management accounting of the charity and its subsidiaries; and, by working in close collaboration with the Finance Manager and the Financial Analyst, ensure smooth running of the charity s finance department. 2 Main Duties The main duties are as follows: Reporting: Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts with supporting narrative. Produce monthly cash flow and balance sheet with historical and forecast information with a clear financial context to enable users decision making. Assist the Head of Finance in presenting reports to senior executives and board members. n liaison with Finance Manager ensure quality and timeliness of month end process. Financial planning: Support the Head of Finance through managing annual financial planning cycle in liaison with Finance Manager and Financial Analyst; provide guidance and support to budget managers during this process. Commercial: Business partnering a range of internal stakeholders. Support managers in providing information and analysis for bids and contracts and follow up reporting as required. Support managers in commissioning services and supplies to ensure that the charity obtains value for money. nvestment: nsure secure administration of the charity s funds; ensure reconciliation of fund managers reports to the charity records and compliance with investment and reserves policies and accounting rules. Treasury Management: Manage the charity s cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity whilst maximising interest receivable and investment returns. Maintain all bank and investment mandates. Annual accounts: Produce Annual Financial Statements and Notes ensuring they are fully compliant with the Charity SORP and other relevant regulatory requirements. Support year end process. Lead on timely completion and submission of audit deliverables. Continuous improvement: nsure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. Pro-active in continually improving our financial management, processes and systems to support high quality operational delivery. Compliance: Manage and comply with all relevant regulations. Maintain all necessary accounting records as required by charity regulation, VAT and tax regulations. Develop and document business processes and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls in line with charity s Financial Regulations. Team development: Develop and lead a high performing team. nsure the team has: - Clear objectives and effective and efficient monitoring systems to appraise performance and progress. - ffective personal development plans to ensure professional standards are maintained and developed - ffective performance management, reporting, early warning and improvement systems in place to minimise the operational risks. - Processes in place to ensure observance or policies, legislation and performance standards Other Duties Any other duties commensurate with the grade and responsibilities of this post. 2

A/ Management of the year end process including audit. A/ Managing planning and budgeting within agreed schedules. A/ xperience & Knowledge xperience of managing the administration of an investment portfolio. vidence of disciplined approach to planning and reporting timetables and applying high quality and professional standard for ad hoc and routine deliverables e.g. monthly/ annual reporting. vidence of continuous development of systems and processes, including specification, selection and implementation of accounting, budgeting and reporting systems.
