1 POSITION DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION Community Fundraising Relationship Specialist Agency Caritas Australia Position Type Team Group Engagement & Sustainability Fundraising Position Status Date of Approval Location Alexandria NSW Authorised by Salary Scale ACBC Grade 4 Position No. Part Time 22.5 hours per week Permanent October 2018 Senior Manager, People and Culture PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Community Fundraising Relationship Specialist is responsible for supporting community fundraising campaigns and products including Women for the World, Caritas Ks, Caritas Kitchen, Hold Your Own, online peer to peer fundraising, community events and other community fundraising activities. ORGANISATIONAL ENVIRONMENT Caritas Australia is the Catholic agency for international humanitarian relief and development in Australia. Through effective relationships with the Church, partners and communities in Africa, Asia, the Pacific and Australia, Caritas Australia helps to end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity. Our programs promote the good of every person and of the whole person, regardless of peoples, religious, political or cultural beliefs. We envisage a world in which children, women and men most vulnerable to extreme poverty and injustice are agents of their own change and architects of their own development. Caritas Australia is an agency established under the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference. Our National Office is based in Sydney and we have offices in several capital cities throughout Australia. Almost half of our staff are based overseas. We are an active member of the Caritas Internationalis confederation which has over 160 members throughout the world. The position reports to the Community Fundraising Lead. In terms of impact, the position is responsible for income generation of approximately AUD$300,000. 2 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Develop and drive community fundraising campaigns and initiatives which increase income and support acquisition, retention and growth of supporters Identify opportunities for and take the lead on creating multi-channel supporter journeys, accompanying marketing materials, and strategies to drive fundraising initiatives Develop a pipeline of community fundraisers to deliver annual income targets Oversee and enhance our peer to peer fundraising platforms Work in collaboration with cross agency teams to develop fundraising collateral and content, and deliver community fundraising digital strategies Respond to community fundraising enquiries and monitor, communicate with and support new and existing fundraisers including providing fundraisers with appropriate fundraising materials Support planning and delivery of the annual Women for the World (WFTW) campaign to maximise fundraising income, including campaign management and working with WFTW committees to deliver gala events Evaluate, monitor and report (monthly) on the performance of community fundraising campaigns against targets and allocated budget KEY CHALLENGES Decision Making Decisions which are made by the Position Holder include: Determining day to day work priorities Deciding the content of peer to peer fundraising platforms Taking ownership for work, being flexible and adaptable, and making suggestions for new policies or processes to improve business performance or address advertising issues Decisions referred to, or made in collaboration with, Community Fundraising Lead may include: Approving the content of marketing materials and collateral, both print and online, subject to financial delegation limits Any decision that will substantially alter the outcomes or timeframe of a project Decisions about engaging external partners or suppliers Matters requiring a higher delegated authority such as approval for expenditure and/or travel

4 POSITION DIMENSIONS Reporting arrangements Reports to Community Fundraising Lead Levels to Chief Executive officer 4 Position Dimensions Staffing: 0 direct reports 0 indirect reports SELECTION CRITERIA The successful candidate will demonstrate and provide examples from their professional experience of the following essential skills: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with individuals and groups in the community who are fundraising for the organisation with the aim to grow the number of supporters and increase community fundraising income Strong understanding and experience in peer to peer fundraising including using online platforms, with the ability to drive the execution of a tailored peer-to-peer donor journey for current fundraisers focused on improved engagement Experience in creating donor acquisition strategies and tactics in a community fundraising context Well-developed campaign and event coordination skills, with the ability to successfully manage multiple campaigns, events and tasks concurrently in a fastpaced environment Organisational skills, including the development and maintenance of work plans with tasks, timelines and responsibilities working with minimal supervision Ability to take ownership of and resolve issues until completion within the agreed timeline and quality standards Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders Experience in managing budgets, campaign expenditure and working with external design, print, digital agencies and other vendors An understanding of and willingness to work within the Catholic ethos Relevant Tertiary Qualifications or equivalent experience Additional Information The successful candidate must have and maintain the right to work in Australia Ongoing appointment to this position is dependent on successful completion of a relevant criminal history record check and a Working with Children Check
