2 Job Title: EMEA Regional Product Champion- FOOD Reports to: EMEA Head of Product and Delivery Support Location: Home based with regular travel Band: Operational Delivery Date: June 2017 Purpose of the position To provide the technical support to EMEA Region to ensure scheme requirements are implemented in the region in accordance with the product delivery and respective accreditation requirements and interface with the global scheme managers to ensure regional concerns are adequately addressed in the global scheme requirements. To facilitate the effective and efficient management of the food scheme deployed by BSI on a regional basis. To be a technical focal point in the region to support internal and external clients regarding food scheme operation and compliance. The aim is to ensure consistent and compliant delivery to our customers while remaining compliant with accreditation requirements for the food scheme. To deliver Agri-Food public training course and in-house training solutions to the BSI standards of excellence, in order to develop knowledge and skills To conduct on site assessments against the requirements of food related standards or specifications with necessary reporting and close out of non-conformities To review assessment reports of other audits conducted by other food scheme auditors and make recommendations for certification decisions To promote the BSI food product offering and solutions to our clients with the view of improving their business performance, managing risk and making excellence a habit. To support the commercial development of growth in these product areas and support the development of the resources within the region for their products areas. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Act as regional champion for food scheme and bridge gap between the global expectations and the local implementation. Provide inputs to global scheme management regional concerns in relation to technical and commercial aspects. Work collaboratively with global scheme managers to ensure annual scheme performance review is completed with improvement opportunities identified. Ensure updated available delivery resources capability in the region and provide support to develop country level delivery resources. Support the Regional Head of C&R and Operations to ensure all technical and commercial issues are adequately addressed at the regional and local level including working with marketing and sales to develop the sales growth and operational resources in the food sector. Support and maintain effective relationship with accreditation bodies working with Regional Head of Compliance & Accreditation. Ensure that a resource plan exists and is maintained across the region in the food sector and Page 2 of 6

3 support the development of resources. Provide technical support to ensure consistency of interpretation and application to service delivery processes and scheme management ensuring simplification and flexibility of qualification. Establish and maintain documented information, including scheme manuals, interpretation documents, tools and mechanisms for supporting delivery of the food schemes. Determine training requirements for certification personnel and work collaboratively with assessor and tutor academy team to develop training materials and manage the co-ordination and the roll out within the region. Training and mentoring of assessment staff within the EMEA region as necessary. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and marketing events; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks. Delivering own assessment work to develop trainees and to keep up to date with current product needs and current skillset of client management and assessment skills. Key Dimensions Reports to EMEA Head of Product & Delivery Support Regional responsibility Interaction with the EMEA Food Director, Global food scheme managers, Regional Head of C&R Head, Regional Operations, and Country s C&R within the EMEA Region Interaction with accreditation bodies and / or regulatory bodies Interaction with operations, sales, marketing, training, C&R and global scheme managers Customer focus both internally and externally. Key Activities & Deliverables # Activities Deliverables 1 Undertake scheme management activities for EMEA within region and interact with local and global teams Scheme manuals and scheme management program up to date to meet internal and external stakeholders including accreditation bodies. Completion of transition plans and monitoring of performance 2 Complete the annual scheme review at regional level and identify improvement opportunities 3 Work with marketing, sales and operations and training teams to support market development and resource development to increase revenue in product areas. Complete regional annual scheme review with recommended improvement actions Development of adequate resources across the region in the food sector. Provide support to sales, marketing, operations and training teams to grow product revenue and market share. Development of resource plans for the food scheme for each country in EMEA Page 3 of 6

4 4 Work with Regional Head of C&R to manage respective accreditation or recognition in the region 5 Excellent delivery and design of internal and external training courses at all levels for the Food, Agri-food BSI training courses Provide support to countries in the region to ensure accreditation or recognition requirements are complied. Maintain the accreditation status with no suspensions. Delegate feedback, accreditation body feedback 6 Provide support to the EMEA Food Director for completing regional scheme review in accordance with the scheme review schedule 7 Deliver assessment work in the food sector and to make recommendations to the issue, re-issue or withdrawal of certificates and report recommendations in accordance with BSI [policy, procedures and prescribed timeframes].. 8 Maintains professional and technical knowledge and professional qualifications 9 Work collaboratively with sales, marketing, planning, operations, C&R and training with the on scheme and scheme manual interpretation and application 10 To develop and coach trainees and provide oversight for scheme regarding assessor competency, assessment duration/frequency. Target accounts and to keep up to date with industry and BSI competency development Review the certification file review information from country audits within the region Delivery of assessment work contributing to resource and account development. Improve the assessment approach for the food scheme. Feedback from clients and surveys. Participation to educational workshops and marketing events; personal networks; participation to relevant associations Adherence to scheme requirements and be operationally and commercially aware. 5 Person Specification Attribute Essential Criteria (required to do the job) Knowledge and Experience (e.g. Type, level) University graduate in agriculture or food science, food engineering, technology or related discipline Sound technical knowledge and commercial background of the food sector and standards such as ISO22000, FSSCC 22000, HACCP, GMP, BRC Global Standards, SQF, Global GAP, Knowledge about system certification accreditation requirements. Proven ability to engage different functions in the region to ensure resource capability for supporting delivery Demonstrable experience of working in a global business environment Analytical skills to collaborate with business & product development to grow BSI market share in the region Page 5 of 6
