1 Job Description General Details Job title: Service: Normal Workbase: Tenure: Hours/FT: Director of Collaborative Academic Partnerships (CA17/02) Collaborative Academic Partnerships Service Stoke Campus Permanent Full Time, 1.0fte Grade/Salary: Grade 12 ( 70,004-74,256) Date Prepared: August 2017 Job Purpose The Director of Collaborative Academic Partnerships is responsible for ensuring the strategic development and effective operational delivery of Staffordshire University collaborative academic partnerships, both in the UK and internationally. The purpose of the role will include the following key areas of responsibility: To develop and implement a strategic business plan to increase the impact of collaborative academic partnerships in support of the Connected University 5-year Strategic Plan. To lead and manage strategic collaborative partnerships locally, nationally and internationally. To develop and coordinate relationships with existing and new collaborative academic partners, working with School and Service Management Teams. To ensure all collaborative partnership awards developed, approved and delivered with UK and International partners are fully compliant with the appropriate requirements for assurance of quality and standards for delivery of higher education awards. To provide inspirational leadership and management of the Collaborative Academic Partnerships Team to ensure a healthy, safe, vibrant and engaged culture. Relationships Reporting to: Pro Vice Chancellor (Partnerships and Region) Responsible for: Collaborative Academic Partnerships Team.

2 Main Activities 1. Play a key role in the strategic leadership and management of the University and undertake University-wide activity appropriate to the role as designated by the Pro Vice Chancellor (Partnerships and Region). 2. Provide effective leadership and line management of the Collaborative Academic Partnerships Team in the delivery of the University 5-year Strategic Plan and achievement of the agreed KPI s. 3. nsure effective cross-university working and communication between the Collaborative Academic Partnerships Team with all University Schools and Services. 4. Develop and implement mechanisms for the effective oversight and coordinated management of all external communication and engagement with collaborative academic partners. 5. Work with the University s Student Academic and Registry Services to ensure effective quality assurance and enhancement activity for all collaborative academic partnerships. nsure that all collaborative academic partnership awards developed, approved and delivered with UK and International partners are fully compliant with the appropriate requirements for assurance of quality and standards for delivery of higher education awards. 6. Work collaboratively to maximize the positive opportunities and impacts for Staffordshire University students and staff through leveraging partnership working with existing and new collaborative academic partners. This will include; enhancing student recruitment and progression to off-campus and on-campus delivered University awards; raising aspirations of students in UK and overseas; creating learning opportunities for our students and staff through exchange visits and through promoting digitally enabled collaboration. 7. Develop and manage the financial arrangements for collaborative academic partnerships working with University Financial Service and Schools. nsure timely and accurate review and reporting on the financial arrangements for partnerships activity. Research market trends to strategically drive the continuous review and development of partnership activity. 8. Act as an ambassador for the University in a range of external environments to grow the reputation of the University through ensuring effective promotion and celebration of the achievements and successes of Staffordshire University and its partner organisations. Represent the University on appropriate committees and working groups at local, regional and national level in line with strategic and operational priorities to build the profile and reputation of the University with key stakeholders. 9. nsure appropriate training and development of staff within the Service to ensure delivery of a professional and flexible service team, capable of meeting defined performance and business objectives. nsure compliance with health and safety legislation and University policy and procedures. Address equality issues within the service in accordance with the Public Sector quality Duty. 10. Undertake any other duties or responsibilities as may reasonably be required by the Pro Vice Chancellor, (Partnerships and Region) Special Conditions The post-holder will be required to travel extensively and represent the University in the UK and Overseas as required.
