Position Purpose The Fundraising Manager is accountable for achieving annual fundraising revenue targets and delivering sustainable growth in the RFDS donor/supporter base throughout South Australia and the Northern Territory, including the stewardship of strategy development and team execution across the mainstream fundraising portfolios of donors, bequests, community, major events, trusts/foundations and volunteers. 1

2 Responsibilities and Measures of Success in the Role Performance Area Responsibility / Task Measurement of Success (Key Performance Indicators KPI s) Fundraising Maximise revenue to the organisation on a consistent basis through the overall strategy and implementation of an ethical fundraising program, including development of cost-effective strategies that increase donations from younger audiences. Stewardship and team leadership of campaign/program execution across the fundraising portfolios of donors, bequests, community, peer-to-peer, events and volunteers (Auxiliaries & Support Groups) that build loyalty and increase values of annual giving to the RFDS. Actively participate in and support team delivery of fundraisingrelated components of organisational and Stakeholder communication plans that help ensure the long-term growth, profile and financial sustainability of the organisation. Ensure that the RFDS complies with all relevant Commonwealth and State/Territory Government legislation (e.g. Collection of Monies for Charitable Purposes Act) and for tax deductibility of donations. Assist in the preparation of marketing and promotional collateral to support marketing and fundraising campaigns. Maintain database user skills (ThankQ), campaign reporting and provide strategic direction of ThankQ database in consultation with Database Administrator. Achieve Annual (compound) growth in net revenue from younger donors (under 50s) of 5 per cent per annum. Achieve (pre-determined) annual net fundraising growth targets at a costto-revenue no greater than 15 cents in the dollar (including bequests). Ensure zero breaches of RFDS quality, safety, risk and volunteer policies by third-party groups fundraising on the organisation s behalf. Ensure adherence to RFDS logo permissions and RFDS Branding Guidelines by the organisation and third-party fundraising groups and/or auxiliaries. Maintain a high level of utilisation and accuracy of recording and reporting of stakeholder activity on the ThankQ CRM database. Major Events Manage RFDS team, venue, infrastructure and other third-party contractors to effectively plan and deliver successful RFDS major events (e.g. annual Wings for Life Gala Ball) that achieve revenue targets and in accordance with RFDS quality, safety and risk management principles. Deliver successful (brand/pr & incident free) RFDS major events e.g. annual Wings for Life Gala Ball. Achieve pre-determined (budget) net revenue target from Major Events portfolio. 2

3 Assist the General Manager,, with solicitation and retention of event sponsorships and, subsequently, stakeholder engagement to maintain enduring relationships. Trusts & Foundations Strategy development, stewardship and execution of the Trusts & Foundations portfolio to meet fundraising and growth targets of the organisation. Identify, prepare and submit grant applications with philanthropic institutions, public/private ancillary foundations, major corporations, community organisations etc Achieve pre-determined (budget) net revenue target for the Trusts & Foundations portfolio. Submit minimum of two significant grant applications to trust/foundations per month. Corporate Partnerships Assist the General Manager,, to identify potential Corporate Partners and opportunities, networks, develop pitches/presentations and secure new relationships that increase donations and fundraising capacity Identify and leverage opportunities to increase engagement and fundraising revenue streams through activities such as Workplace Giving, Matched Giving, third-party events etc Conduct meaningful dialogue with key representative(s) of identified RFDS Corporate & Community Partners on a minimum quarterly basis. Achieve pre-determined (budget) revenue streams from workplace/payroll giving through engagement with new and existing corporate & community partnerships. Public Relations Ensure the RFDS is represented in a professional manner at all times with a view to continually enhancing the organisation s image and position of respect in the community. Represent the RFDS at community events in both metropolitan and regional areas, speaking to cross-sections of the community to enhance our profile and increase the public s understanding of the role of the RFDS. Assist pro-actively in ensuring a positive culture within the organisation; provide leadership and support mechanisms that continually strengthen internal staff relations. Positive donor/supporter/community/patient feedback Participation in a minimum of twelve external events per annum (one per month) including speaking engagements, to further develop public relations and the RFDS profile Compliance with RFDS Code of Conduct Performance Management Support the management of poor performing staff by providing counsel, advice, assistance with associated documentation. Management, in consultation with relevant managers regarding the termination of employment contracts etc. Constructively and positively participate in performance discussions. Ensure annual performance reviews for direct reports are conducted on a timely basis and in accordance with RFDS policy. Complete self-assessments as required. 3

4 Effectively manage direct reports and provide support to the senior management team by demonstrating and providing leadership, direction, support and coaching. Positively participate and contribute to the RFDS performance management program. Ensures any poor performance issues are addressed immediately in accordance with RFDS Performance Management Policy. Quality/Compliance Proactively participate in all activities associated with the management of occupational health and safety and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel by compliance with all relevant Occupational, Health, Safety & Welfare, Equal Employment Opportunity obligations etc. Contribute to Quality Program which support and maintain ISO9001 accreditation. Ensure conduct at all times is professional, reputable and in accordance with philosophy and direction of the RFDS. Compliance with all Occupational, Health, Safety & Welfare, Equal Employment Opportunity obligations etc. Knowledge and understanding of RFDS policies and procedures and their applicability. Demonstrated compliance with RFDS policies, standard operating procedures and protocols. Promote, support and comply with all quality initiatives including ISO9001 accreditation requirements. 4
