Welcome Words: Dear friends! Reading this info-pack means that you are interested in the volunteering post at Föreningen Framtidståget, which makes us very happy! This booklet in your hands contains few basic information about the project, our organisation and life in Stockholm! About us: Association Framtidståget was founded in 1997 by in Stockholm, Sweden. Translating from Swedish, Framtidståget means the Train of Future. We are a non-profit organization, aiming to give people the second or even the third chance in their lives. Our philosophy is accepting all people without conditions and prejudges about their socio-economic, ethnic, cultural and religious background, as well as emphasizing the idea of a democratic, tolerant and integrated society. This philosophy is shared in fact by both our 2 branches of activities: 1- The Professional branch: We deal with professional cognitive treatment work, providing psychological help to people with social problems alcohol and drug addiction, domestic violence, discrimination in society etc. 2- The international projects branch: As a volunteer in our organisation, you will be part of the department. We organize and coordinate social and humanitarian projects in Sweden and abroad, we also work with Erasmus plus international youth exchanges, training courses and volunteer projects, recommendations, and

consultancy; youth, especially young people with fewer opportunities, such as psycho-social problems, is our main target group. The Accommodation and Daily Life: The volunteers will live in a shared apartment and must be prepared to share their living space with either the other volunteer, or with other locals. The housing crisis in Stockholm is a great challenge for our organisation to find suitable accommodation for our volunteers, thus we expect the understanding and a high level of flexibility, since we might find ourselves limited to the option of both volunteers sharing the same room (provided the same gender), or having to commit on a daily basis for an hour. The volunteers will have a social mentor, who will help them to integrate into the society, show them places around the city, and help them to meet more people. Financial terms and Conditions: In accordance with Erasmus+ rules, every EVS volunteer will be provided with accommodation, a transportation card with a monthly subscription covering the whole area of Stockholm (metro, buses, trams, commuter trains, ferries..) as well as a monthly sum covering both pocket money and food either in cash. Travel costs will be calculated using the Erasmus+ distance calculator. The participants will have their travel costs covered up to the calculated amount.

Activities: The volunteers will be working in the projects department of our organization, the office hours for volunteers are to every working day with one-hour lunch break at However, several activities require a flexible schedule that is subject to an agreement between the volunteers and their coordinator. The volunteers are expected to create ideas, make projects and organize events to combine the professional and the humanitarian branches of Framtidståget s activities for youngsters. Tasks include working in the projects department in the organization, various stages of project management, case studies, organizing events, visibility and communication strengthening, administrative tasks, marketing and designing tasks. The volunteers will have a big margin of freedom according to their field of interest, but always under the supervision and guidance of their coordinator. The planned activities and applied methods will contribute not only to the formal and non-formal learning of participants but also to their social, cultural and personal development. There will be at least one person who will take general care and be responsible for the volunteers at Framtidståget. The person will take care of the practical matters, distribution of tasks and learning process of the volunteers. Volunteers will receive the common linguistic support offered for EVS/ESC volunteers which is the OLS. Moreover, if the volunteer is interested in learning Swedish to a greater level they are encouraged to join SFI classes, which are free classes offered by the Swedish government to immigrants. (More info here) The volunteers studies hours are counted within their working time. Which is also the case if the volunteers choose to participate in different activities (seminars, festivals, conferences..) as long as it is agreed upon with their coordinator.

Aim and Objectives: The aim of the project is to bring fresh and young perspective into the professional and international work aspect of our organization, providing young people from Europe a chance to develop themselves within an environment that they might not be able to find in their home countries. The volunteers will mainly work in the area of project management and public relations. They are expected to create ideas, write and contribute to projects and organize events to combine the professional and the humanitarian branches of Framtidståget s activities for vulnerable youngsters. Most of the activities will take place in a friendly atmosphere at our office with support of the coordinator and the other colleagues, making sure that the learning process is efficient, but also enjoyable, which leads to the unforgettable experience. In addition to that, we also set as an objective the writing, submission and implementation of an Erasmus+ project by the volunteers themselves in their home countries. The idea of the projects comes straight of the volunteer s creativity and it is their task to shape it with the help and support of their mentor and colleagues.

Project Profile: In accordance with Erasmus+ guidelines, the volunteer s age must fall between 18 and 30 years old. However, the criteria which we hold higher at Föreningen Framtidståget is the volunteer s motivation to live abroad and learn for the experience, any set of skills either creative or analytical is a huge plus. The volunteers will be considered mainly on their motivation as well as the ability to express him/herself correctly in English, since communication is very crucial to our daily work.
