The employee may be required to work flexible shifts that include evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a temporary, part-time position with no guaranteed number of work hours and has a 29- hour work week maximum. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, and one (1) year experience and background in public recreation, security related field, or any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform essential functions of the position. Must possess a valid State driver s license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment. Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age. Selection Process: Applications and supplements will be reviewed and the most qualified applicants will be placed on an eligibility list. From this list, applicants may be selected to be interviewed by an oral board and/or further testing. 3 PAY GRADE: 114 EEOC CODE: 04 FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt Revised: 03/22/2017 STATEMENT OF THE JOB Conducts day-to-day operations on foot, in patrol vehicles, all-terrain vehicles and bicycles, safeguarding City property and equipment against loss or damage from theft, vandalism or other causes. Enforces municipal codes, solves day to day problems and provide visitors with general help and/or information that will facilitate a pleasant and safe environment for visitors. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS City of Bullhead City Reports to: Recreation Manager Supervises: N/A Coordinates with: Police Department, Recreation staff, City employees, and general public. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Patrols facilities within Bullhead City to maintain the property and ensure a safe and healthy environment for all those who patronize the City facilities. Monitors park activities and users; enforces park policies and regulations, municipal code statutes in or on City facilities, completes citations and writes municipal violation reports.

4 Page 2 Performs park security activities; monitors events; identifies and reports unsafe conditions and vandalism. Patrols facilities and parks to deter negative activity and resolves day to day issues as appropriate. Provides assistance in emergency situations; calls for police or medical assistance. Answers routine questions and assists park users as required. Inspects City property for damage, hazards, maintenance needs and safety issues. Cleans facilities and park areas as needed using broom, mop or other cleaning tools. Moves debris, dirt or other material using a shovel, rake or other tools; digs ditches, holes for signposts, etc. Sets-up and removes tables, chairs, barricades, traffic cones, and similar items needed for functions. Controls and directs traffic as needed. Provides credible testimony in court as needed. Acts as an ambassador by providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Performs other duties as assigned in case of an emergency. Complies with and promotes safe practices in agreement with the safety rules and procedures set forth in the Loss Control Program. Performs related work as required. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES Assists as necessary. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of: Departmental and City policies, instructions, laws, and regulations, City ordinances and State statutes for park use; park safety practices; patrol and security procedures and practices. Skill in: Performing basic life support and basic first aid procedures.

5 Page 3 Ability to: Work independently without close supervision, handle encounters with hostile or irate individuals. Conducts equipment or facility checks; identify hazardous or unsafe conditions or behaviors. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Keep accurate records; prepare accurate and timely reports. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the public. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED Motorized vehicle, telephone, cell phone, 2-way radio, first aid equipment, motor vehicle, bicycle, broom, mop, shovel, rake, and assorted cleaning supplies.
