June 202, Second Quarter Message by the CE & President Dear Team Members, On behalf of the Management, I would like to congratulate all employees of Askari General Insurance Co. Ltd on its 6 th Anniversary. At every step, we have remained vigilant and focused. I believe that in order to be distinctive in the industry, it is imperative to be creative, with out of the box thinking and to offer level playing field to all and for that purpose, I expect that we keep working as a team. Implementation of robust and fool-proof systems acts as an enabling factor to ensure sustainable growth henceforth our focus in the year 20 through 202 persisted on refining these systems which in turn brought efficiency to our operations. The year 20 has been an assortment of successes and challenges for the entire organization. AGICO achieved a milestone by receiving IFS rating of A by both the rating companies operating in Pakistan. The installation of the tracker system considerably benefited in terms of reducing theft of vehicles. Our main focus for the year 202 is precisely based on development of innovative products that will help our company to explore new avenues in insurance and also on the retention of existing customer base by providing them above par services. By the grace of Almighty Allah and cumulative efforts of our team of employees, we have achieved relatively higher profitability in all segments of the insurance business. Finally, I would entreat every team member to contribute heartily towards the achievement of our objective of becoming the best in services in 202. 3 FACETS OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT Human Capital Index (HCI): A human capital Index study was conducted by Watson Wyatt. In their study, they have concluded which HR practices and policies can have greatest correlation to shareholder value. It depicts the correlation between how organizations manage their human capital and its impacts on their financial performance. This study has showed groundbreaking results that for the company which has better HR practices, there is higher shareholder value. Here are some key findings of the study: Organizations with superior HR practices have three times higher shareholder returns. Good HR practices adapted by the organizations result in positive financial performance to a much great extent when compared with the positive financial indicators. Some of the traditional HR practices like developmental training and 360-degree appraisal, if not conducted properly can harmfully change the financial performance of the company. AGICO co. ltd is also adapting best HR practices is order to sustain its human capital which will ensure financial stability in the future. The end goal of our organization is to increase shareholder returns by following HR practices which are up to the mark. Emotional Quotient (EQ): EQ refers to emotional quotient which is a measure of our emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence or emotional quotient emphasizes on self-awareness, control of emotions, anger management and emotions of other people as well. These skills are essential for the success in leadership and our ability to manage change. An emotional intelligent person comprises the following abilities: An ability to understand and recognize feelings and emotions- Self-awareness. The ability to manage what we think or how we control our actions- Self-regulation or self-management. The ability to understand the feelings and emotions of other people- Social Awareness. The ability to express your feelings and emotions to others-relationship management. The research in the field of emotional quotient has conducted that having social and emotional intelligence (soft skills) are necessary for achieving success and make you a better leader. At AGICO co. ltd., our main aim is to provide employees emotional stability which will increase their motivation and enhance their work productivity. Also, emotional intelligence will help our employees to nurture work relationships and establish teams in order to work in a more efficient and effective manner. 3

7 ORIENTATION TOUR of Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital Askari Health organized an Orientation tour of Quaide Azam International Hospital, Rawalpindi on 5 th May 202 for its clients. Around 50 participants from various organizations arrived at the hospital. After assembling in the Auditorium, they were welcomed by the DH Health. GM QIH, Sadaqat Baig welcomed the participants on behalf of the management. A brief documentary titled' QIH- concept to reality was shown. All the participants were impressed with the dedication and hard work that was involved in making the concept a reality. Dr. Shaukat Khan Bangash, CEO of the hospital then gave a short introduction to his team and services. This was followed by a Q&A session. All the participants were then taken on a detailed guided tour of the hospital. The design and facilities available were very impressive and everyone appreciated Askari Health which is the only company to have such a quality hospital like QIH on its panel.
