5 KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS a What are these KPI s all about? These KPI s are designed to do the following things: 1. Help you to monitor your own performance in your current job role by understanding what good performance looks like. 2. Help your manager provide you with timely and objective feedback on your performance. Instead of your manager just telling you generally that you did a good job or that our need to improve, they will be able to give you specific feedback on where you did well and where you need to improve. 3. Help you and your manager map out strategies to improve your performance in areas where you need help and to do this before too much time has passed. Do the KPI s cover my whole job role? No. The KPI s are there to help you in the key areas only. They cover the key areas of your job performance that account for the majority of the tangible results you achieve. Your job is far broader than this. If an aspect of your job that you currently undertake doesn t appear in these KPI s it doesn t mean that it is not important or that you should stop doing it. Also, there may be changes to your exact duties which arise during the course of this financial year. Any new duties are important and should be done well even though they don t appear on your KPI s. Your general performance as well as your specific achievement of these KPI s will be regularly reviewed by your manager. What will the KPI s do for me? The KPI s are designed to give you the confidence of knowing what the important things to focus on in your day to day work are. The reviews of the KPI s will let you know that you are on track with your career at Bolden Constructions. How will the KPI s be used? You and your manager will sit down every 3 months to examine together how well you are meeting your KPI s. Your manager will ask for your feedback on what you think you are doing well and what areas you need help in. Needs for one-on-one support or training (internally or by attending external courses) will be assessed through the KPI review process. Will the KPI s change? Yes, as this business changes, so to will your KPI s. But don t worry this won t happen overnight (most probably annually) and any necessary changes will be done in consultation with you. 6 a POINTS OF CULTURE Ownership We are truly responsible for our actions, outcomes & everything that takes place in our work and personal lives. We are accountable for our results and we know that for things to change, first we must change. Reliable Ensure people can rely on you. By consistently delivering on your promises and committing to a result, people will learn that if you say you will do something then you will do it. Solutions Focus on the solution and not the problem. The problem needs to be recognised and discussed to ensure it does not happen again, but once that is established, move onto finding a solution. Integrity We always speak the truth. What we promise is what we deliver. We only make agreements with ourselves and others that we intend to keep. We communicate potential broken agreements at the first opportunity, and we clear up any broken agreements immediately. Communication We speak positively of our fellow team members, our clients and Bolden Constructions in both public and private. We never use or listen to sarcasm or gossip. We acknowledge what is being said as true for the speaker at that moment and we take responsibility for responses to our communication. We only ever discuss concerns in private with the individual involved. Success We totally focus our thoughts, energy and attention on the successful outcome of whatever we are doing. We are willing to win and allow others to win = Win/Win. Education We learn from our mistakes. We consistently learn, grow and master so that we can help our fellow team members and clients learn, grow and master too. We impart practical, useable knowledge rather than just theory. Team Work We are team players and team leaders. We do whatever it takes to stay together and achieve team goals. We focus on co-operation and always come to a resolution, not a compromise. We are flexible in our work and able to change if what we are doing is not working. We ask for help when we need it and we are compassionate to others who ask us. Systems We always look to the system for a solution. We follow the system exactly until a new system is introduced. We suggest system improvements at our first opportunity. Gratitude We say Thank You and show appreciation often and in many ways, so that all around us know how much we appreciate everything. We celebrate our wins and the wins of our team mates. We consistently catch ourselves and other people doing things right. P a g e 6 6
