1 Janus International Hospitality Student Exchange US State Department Designated J-1 Sponsor Agency Jefferson Davis Hwy, Ruther Glen, VA, Phone #: Fax: JOB DESCRIPTION: MCDONALD S FAST FOOD RESTAURANT LOCATION: MYRTLE BEACH AREA, SOUTH CAROLINA EMPLOYER INFORMATION EMPLOYER MCDONALD S FAST FOOD RESTAURANT, MYRTLE BEACH AREA, SC JOB TITLE Fast Food Crew Person JOB DESCRIPTION You will work for a company that owns and operate about ten chain restaurants in Garden City Beach, Surfside Beach, and Myrtle Beach, Pawley's Island, SC. Your duties will include any or all of the following positions: cook, prep cook, cashier, drive-thru worker, service support, opener, ice-cream maker, closer and cleaner You will work as a member of a large team. Your responsibilities will be to satisfy the customer by delivering an impressive experience through quality, service, and cleanliness. You ll be trained in the following areas, and your associated duties will include: working well within a team environment, cash register responsibilities, cleaning, cooking, lifting, dishwashing, sandwich preparation, and the opening and closing of the restaurant. Most of McDonald s restaurants are open at 5 AM and closes at 1 AM J1 Students must be willing to work morning, day, late evening, weekends, and holidays shifts Students have to be prepared for high and low store operations and work as many as possible hours during high peak business and expect low hours during the slow weeks! ENGLISH LEVEL Intermediate Upper Intermediate EMPLOYMENT POSITION INFORMATION WORK DATES Work Start: Earliest Start Date: June 10; Latest Start Date: July 5 Work End: September 15 September 30 HOURLY RATE PAY $9.50 per regular hour. Overtime rate: the employer does not intend to schedule overtime, but if a student works over 40 hours a week the OT pay rate is $ AVERAGE # OF HOURS On average for the whole program (not guaranteed) 32 hours per week PAYCHECK FREQUENCY Paychecks paid every 2 weeks MEAL DISCOUNT Yes (only after 4 hours of a work shift) No TRANSPORTATION TO To get to and from work, you will have access to the local bus service. Also, WORK transportation is provided by the employer COST OF TRANSPORTATION Public bus at ticket price or free transportation by the employer UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS Employees must maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times. A complete uniform consisting of sets of a shirt, name tag, hat and pants will be provided. You will need to purchase slip-resistant shoes in Myrtle Beach GROOMING CODE Yes. Facial hair for men should be cleanly shaven. Good personal hygiene is a must, including a daily shower and bath and use of deodorant. For men: no hair on the chin. Hair must be cut above ears and collar. Women: No long nails, hair pulled back. No visible tattoos or facial piercing during work. We recommend you to quit smoking, or if you smoke, please do so in the designated areas only (very limited) REASONABLE EXPECTATION Much depends on the economic conditions in the U.S. during your employment here. We can make no guarantee of overtime or the availability of second (part-time) jobs. If you find a part-time job, please make sure that you prioritize your obligation to your primary employer. 2 COST OF HOUSING Housing is $ tax per week with 3-4 students per room HOUSING DETAILS Yes. The house has a set of rules that managers will go over at orientation. The student must understand that cleaning of the house will be checked on a weekly basis. There could be a monetary fine of $25.00 per student for failure to complete tasks.
