1 I. POSITION IDENTIFICATION POSITION DESCRIPTION A. Position Title: Lineman Helper B. Department: Operations C. Date Revised: August 3, 2017 II. OBJECTIVES A. Objectives Common to All Employees 1. Every employee has the responsibility of building favorable Member relations as part of his/her job. This means listening to and responding to consumers in a courteous/professional manner, which will at all times project a favorable image of the Cooperative. 2. Safety - Responsible for the knowledge of and abiding by the Board of Directors approved Georgia EMC Safety Operations Manual. B. Objectives Unique to This Position 1. To provide support services to line crew operations. III. AUTHORITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES, AND REQUIREMENTS A. Reports to: Line Superintendent, Line Crew Leader, or Line Technician B. Supervision of: None Has no functional authority except that which has been delegated by immediate supervisor. C. Accountability Accountable to supervisor for the proper and complete performance of job duties under close supervision. IV. FUNCTIONS A. Perform all duties as helper on line crew in the handling, transporting, and storing of tools, equipment, and materials.

2 PAGE TWO B. Assist in construction activities such as framing poles, hand digging, and basic labor activities. C. Maintain tools and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. D. Assist in maintaining warehouse and yard equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition. E. Assist line crews during outage situation as a helper to qualified line personnel. F. To enroll in and complete in a timely manner the prescribed course schedule in the TVPPA Apprenticeship Program. G. To become familiar with the construction specifications listed in the REA construction specifications book. H. Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned.

3 POSITION SPECIFICATION I. POSITION IDENTIFICATION A. Position Title: Lineman Helper B. Department: Operations C. Date Revised: August 3, 2017 II. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A. High school diploma or equivalent required. B. Employment as an apprentice in the power line apprenticeship training program requires agreement to sign an apprenticeship agreement approved by the Department of Labor, if requested at any time during the apprenticeship. C. Knowledge of basic vehicle use, care and maintenance. D. Must have a valid commercial license, as specified by the Cooperative, within nine months of employment or on hire at the discretion of management. This will be determined based on job related need only. Must meet D. O. T. Certification requirements. E. Must be able to perform heavy physical labor, working outdoors in all weather conditions. F. Cannot be afraid of heights. G. Must not have any physical impairment to manual dexterity, hearing, speech or sight that will affect job capability. III. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A. Experience with an electric cooperative.

4 PAGE TWO IV. COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS The responsibilities of this position cause the Cooperative to require that the residence of the employee have a functional telephone. V. NON-EXEMPT STATUS This position is subject to overtime pay according to the Fair Labor Standards Act. and is subject to overtime compensation. Overtime work requires the prior approval of the immediate supervisor. Must be available to work overtime (including weekends) as required during emergency restoration situations. VI. POSITION LEVEL This is an entry level, apprenticeship training position.
