2 Job Description Role: Reporting to: Liaise with: Salary: Team Manager Service Manager & Operations Director All staff 25,000-28,000 p/a (Depending upon experience and qualifications) Function To manage the provision of support given to young people in their transition to adulthood. Key Tasks To assist the Service Manager in the development of the supporting housing function, associated leaving care services and be responsible in the absence of the Service Manager. To ensure that the accommodation and staff operate in full accordance with all statutory, regulatory and standards requirements including: Children Act 1989 and 2004 and Leaving Care Act 2000 The Children Act 1989 Guidance and Regulations: Volume 3 Planning Transitions to Adulthood Promoting the Health and Wellbeing of Care Leavers; Statutory Guidance 2015 To ensure that young people have their needs met, their welfare promoted at all times and that they are safeguarded from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation; Through delegation by the Service Manager be responsible for the development, control, coordination and support of the staff group; To assist in the development of other staff and or volunteers to ensure that all areas of the accommodation are clean and well-maintained; To assist in the delivery of a coordinated service offer through effective liaison with Social Workers, Personal Advisers and other professional staff and parents/carers; To assist in the day-to-day management of young people, specifically liaising with Social Workers, Personal Advisers, GP's, Looked After Children Nurses, Education staff, other voluntary agencies, parents/carers, etc.; To work with Commissioning Partners, LSCB, Police, neighbours and the local community; To set high standards in respect to their own professional conduct and Continuous Professional Development; To ensure in liaison with the Service Manager effective staff communications; To assist in ensuring that staff receive regular supervision, probationary and annual appraisals in line with CFS Care policies; To assist in holding regular staff meetings, keeping staff informed of policies & practice To assist in ensuring that the building, plant, equipment and furniture is well maintained, cleaned and cared for ensuring that staff involve young people appropriately. Flexible working to meet the needs of the service including supervisory weekend working when required; Commitment to own personal development. Additionally, to carry out such duties as may be required by CFS Care Directors or such other officer as may be authorised by the Directors.

3 Person Specification Essential Personal Attributes Qualifications A relevant NVQ 3 or equivalent (i.e. specific to Health and Social Care). Full UK Driving License Experience A minimum of TWO years experience in a Social Care or Housing, Health, Educational setting Knowledge and Skills Ability to communicate with and relate to Young People; Understanding of Regualtory frameworks includinmg the Leaving Care Act 2000; Ability to identify the needs of Looked After young people and paln to meet these needs; Working knowledge of broader childcare legislation; Commitment to Equality and Diversity Ability to set a positive climate for staff supervision & development from the Service Manager Ability to work with other other professionals and carers in a multi-disciplinary apprroach; Ability to develop leadership skills Ability to assist in the Service's plans, setting of priorities/targets and organise own/staff workload and time; Ability to commuicate well Ability to use Word, Excel etc Knowledge and understanding of expectations consistent with Safeguarding and Chid Protection Special Requirements Excellent interpersonal skills; An appropriate Enhanced DBS check; Flexible working as per needs of the service and week-end supervisory cover; Commitment to own personal development.
