Job description Post title Department/Division Faculty Grade/salary Hours of work Period of appointment Responsible to Responsible for Campus Project Manager T T Grade 6 ( per annum) starting at the low end of the spine. plus 3,223 London Weighting Allowance per annum Full time (35 hours per week) ndefinite Contract Senior Project Manager/Programme Manager/Portfolio Manager None Lavington Street Role purpose The role of the Project Manager is to provide professional project management in the day-to-day running of multiple projects through the entire project lifecycle to deliver to the needs of the organisation, within set budget, timescales and quality. The successful candidate will be expected to build relationships across a wide stakeholder community and business partners, to ensure the projects are delivered to budget and within timescales, driving innovation in line with the University s requirements. The role is situated in one of the T offices, mainly in Lavington Street, London.

2 Role profile Project Management - reporting to Programme Manager: Lead in the delivery of T Projects in line with the Kings Operating Model (KOM) using Microsoft Project online Define, document and successfully deliver T projects across the college Ensure that realistic project, quality, change control and risk management processes are maintained Monitor and control resources, revenue and capital costs against the project budget Plan, identify, and secure resources to support a successful outcome of work packages or the entire project Manage expectations of all project stakeholders and suppliers to ensure effective planning, delivery and communications Lead and prepare detailed planning and budgetary reports for a range of audiences, to assist in the approval and management of projects as well as briefings and other related project governance communications Project manage the full life cycle of T procurement activities up to and including OJEU. This involves tender development, evaluation, shortlisting, supplier selection and contract negotiation. Matrix manage staff, contractors and vendors, where appropriate, to ensure on time, on budget and agreed quality outcomes to projects and initiatives Co-operate with King s Health Partners, JSC, the Francis Crick nstitute and other organisations to ensure that excellent solutions are provided to all College stakeholders and partners Contribute to the creation of benefits realisation plans as part of each project Portfolio Co-ordination - reporting to Head of Portfolio (HoP): Manage the weekly Portfolio Operations Review meeting Manage the tracking of budgets, forecasts and actuals for each project within the portfolio Production of the Portfolio Monthly Report Provide quality assurance for all T-document financial information against the Portfolio Financial Tracker Ad-hoc requests from HoP to maintain the operational efficiency of projects and programmes within the portfolio. Summary of Terms and Conditions of Service This appointment is made under the King s College London Terms and Conditions of Service for Professional Services staff a copy of which is available from the Recruitment Team upon request. Probation Six Months Annual leave 27 working days per annum pro rata (please note the annual leave year runs from January- December) bank holidays and customary closure days in are in addition to the annual leave entitlement. Staff receive four additional customary closure days in December. Notification as to how these days are taken is circulated at the start of the academic year.

6 Superannuation This appointment is superannuable under the SAUL (applicable for Grades 1 to 5) or the USS (applicable for Grades 6 to 8 and Researchers on Grade 5) pension scheme. n accordance with recent legislation, we automatically enrol our staff in a pension scheme if they meet certain age and earning criteria. This is known as auto-enrolment. The university collects pension contributions via a salary sacrifice method called PensionsPlus. These deductions are made before the calculation of tax and national insurance is calculated; therefore reducing the amount you pay. Staff already superannuated under the NHS Superannuation Scheme may opt to remain in that scheme provided an application to do so is received by the NHS scheme trustees within three months of appointment to King s College London. Please note that NHS Superannuation Scheme: Medical Schools are classed as Direction Employers and some benefits of the NHS Scheme are not available to Direction members. Alternatively staff may opt to take out a personal pension. Please note that the university does not provide an employer's contribution towards a private pension plan.
