3 Strategic Planning Systematic creation of a documented shared vision with goals and outcomes, documenting intents and activities Originated with military planning and adopted by business in the 50 s Migrated into higher education and is a basic expectation for accreditation

4 Key Performance Indicators A limited set of metrics that convey whether overall strategic goals are being met Too many indicators can be overwhelming - Too few indicators can miss important issues Augmented with research and evaluation What gets measured gets managed -Peter Drucker

5 Key Performance Indicators College KPI for Percent of all students on Pell grants, the California College Promise grant, and/or AB540 financial aid increase from 45% to 55% 2. Percent of all students who complete transfer level English and Math completion (with a C or better) in their first year, regardless of their educational goal increase from 7% to 50% 3. Volume of degrees and certificates earned to increase by 20% and transfers by 35% 4. Percent of all students who persist from fall to spring term, excluding students who completed an award or transferred increase from 71% to 80% 5. Percent of students earning 30+ degree applicable units in an academic year increase from 11% to 30% 6.
