2 JOB DESCRIPTION 1. Job Title ICT Technician Job Description ICT Technician Blackburn Rovers Community Trust Salary Hours of Work Location Responsible To Responsible For Contractual Status 2. Overall purpose of the Job 18,000-20,000 - commensurate on experience You will be expected to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, excluding lunch breaks. The role may on occasion include evening and weekend unsociable hours. Blackburn Rovers Football Club, Ewood Park, Blackburn, BB2 4JF. You will be required to undertake travel as necessary to fulfil your job requirements and to the satisfaction of BRCT. The BRCT Executive Team, the BRCT Senior Management Team and the BRFC I.T. Manager Enhancing and updating BRCT s ICT communication systems and offering support to BRFC s ICT communication systems when required. Full Time initially a one year term with a view to extension, subject to performance. Blackburn Rovers Community Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to be responsible for the management, maintenance and development of all IT equipment/systems. The post-holder will offer technical support to all activities using ICT, together with in house development training to all staff in need of support. To cover 1st line technical support to the Community Trust and Provide 1st and 2nd line support to the Club when required. To learn and manage the network setup for the Community Trust. To provide support to the Enterprise Centre staff and clients. To document and manage the community Trust I.T. contracts, to review upcoming contracts and meet with suppliers and acquire tenders for the business. To be able to create business case study s and Project Proposal s. To document the community Trust systems. To implement new systems in all areas of I.T. and to undertake one or two projects when time is available. A clear

3 show of progress is required over a month program, to be agreed with the IT Manager and Head of Community Trust. To provide match day technical support as per the I.T Department Rota. To provide match day on call assistance as required. 3. Duties and Responsibilities To be responsible for: Technical ICT Support Install new software and hardware. Secure, security code and ensure the safe set up of new equipment. Set up equipment such as computers, laptops, ipads, data projectors, interactive whiteboards, sound systems and other specialist ICT equipment, ensuring that systems are ready for use and operating correctly. Deliver hardware and resources to work areas and classrooms as required. Configuration & Installation Assist in creating a structured approach to rolling out new hardware or software, including procurement, testing and assessing the needs of user training. Server & Network Support Perform basic diagnostic routines. Work to and give guidance to others on the ICT acceptable use policy (staff and students). Perform checks to ensure that broadband connectivity is maintained. Network new PC s as and when required, managing the servers. Maintenance Develop a strategic maintenance schedule for all computer hardware, software and networks, and ensure that it is followed. Manage the structure of the Trust network, removing expired documentation and cleaning up shared user areas. Support the implementation of MIS solutions as required. Detect, diagnose and resolve most PC, printer and peripheral device faults.

4 Maintain electronic mail accounts and implement where appropriate. Ensure BRCT policy on staff and pupil access to data and files is implemented. Provide advice, guidance and assistance to staff and students on developing their use of ICT. Identify software, hardware and working practices required to fulfil the functional specification as defined by BRCT. Assist in planning and implementing changes to elements of the ICT service as required. Take overall responsibility for the promotion and observance of a safe working environment in the specialist work area including risk assessments, review of safety procedures and distribution of safety information for all personnel using specialist work areas. Ensure routine safety checks, including electrical tests, are carried out and appropriate records maintained. Ensure the safe disposal of obsolete equipment, used consumables and waste materials in line with recognised procedures and legal requirements. Administration & Supervision Maintain an up to date inventory of ICT software and licences. Be responsible for an efficient stock control system and associated records. Order equipment and supplies to secure best value for goods and services. Receive and check deliveries and associated invoices, notify the appropriate person of discrepancies. Support the full range of financial planning for ICT, including purchase of larger items and help to estimate future budget requirements. Provide management information as required. To work flexibly and undertake other duties of an equivalent nature that may be required from time to time. Look at new technologies and software to bring to the club and review for use. To be able to setup and configure classroom environments. 4. General To at all times represent Blackburn Rovers Football Club and Blackburn Rovers Community Trust in a professional manner regarding to dress, presentation, personal hygiene, attitude, conduct and professionalism. 5. Person Specification Demonstrable Experience Essential Recent experience of working in a busy ICT environment. Background in ICT. Experience managing suites of computers. Experience of networking / patching in. Experience mass updating software packages. At least 2 years experience in providing IT support Desirable Working within a football environment on various aspects of media and communications. Working within a charity setting for licensing purposes. Ability to provide in-service training to colleagues. Experience with the following: Mitel systems & IP Phones Procurve networking Windows server 2008 R2 AV management A.D. & Group Policy GFI Print management We are Cloud, Anti-Spam software AB Tutor Exchange 2007/2010 Windows 7 & 10 Office 2007 & 2013 Graphic design software such as Photoshop/In- Design

6 Knowledge How to manage current Microsoft Office software. The ability to liaise with internet service providers and other suppliers or contractors in relation to routine matters and fixing simple faults. Good knowledge of the world wide web and the basic range of functions on browsers. Knowledge around how a charity and/or a professional football club community scheme function. Knowledge of key projects delivered by professional football club community schemes. Ability to evaluate the software used in the classroom Skills Knowledge of software and network integrity and security. The ability to install, test and maintain hardware and software for networks and stand-alone use. The ability to manage maintenance and repair procedures. Knowledge of health and safety requirements. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. To have a pleasant and approachable demeanour. The ability to work with the minimum of supervision. The ability to work as part of a team, demonstrating a willingness and ability to perform all functions required of team members. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise. The ability to use graphic design software to a basic level. The ability to manage and develop websites. Ability and readiness to drive to other sites.

Qualifications Strong development/maintenance skills. A-levels (or equivalent). IT A degree in a relevant subject. Minimum of five GCSEs including English and maths at a Grade C or above. To hold a valid UK driving license.
