2 Mission Statement The Division of Planning, Budget, and Human Resources promotes a healthy university capable of achieving student success through effective planning, evaluation, and management of UVU's human, financial, and information resources.

3 Strategic Objectives Provide timely and accurate information and recommendations to support effective and informed university decision making and communications. Provide centralized processes, systems, and education to secure resources, expand information awareness, improve decision making capabilities, and promote equity across the university. Fulfill UVU's compliance duties within the division's scope of responsibilities through consistent institutional practices, adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, and responsiveness to stakeholders. Recruit, retain, and develop a knowledgeable and professional staff that supports centralized services and cross-campus collaboration.

17 PACE advocates for and recognizes staff by providing a unified voice to the campus community, social and service opportunities, and support for professional development. Advocate for staff by representing and advancing their interests and recognizing the value of their contributions. Unify the diverse groups of staff across campus toward common goals in alignment with the university mission. Communicate with administration and staff by providing a forum for the exchange of information. Involve staff by encouraging social, service, and professional engagement on campus and in the community.

20 Increase staff education fund to match employee growth Request # 120 UVU has 339 more full-time employees than we had 8 years ago. The increase to the Staff Education Funds would allow more employees the opportunity to further their education which in return gives them more knowledge and skills to support UVU. This initiative also is a great benefit to help develop and retain employees. Current Expense on-going request $28,000

Provide an environment of inclusive learning, collaboration, personal and professional development, appreciation, and recognition enabling employees to achieve their highest potential to positively impact student success. 2. Promote productivity and employee success by protecting the health, wealth, and wellbeing of UVU employees and their families. 3. Enhance HR service delivery capabilities and alignment by adapting, standardizing, and streamlining essential processes, procedures, and communication while maintaining customer service through human interaction. 4. Attract and maintain a highly skilled workforce by creating people-focused solutions through search advocacy, meaningful recognition and rewards programs, sound policies, procedures and practices that balance the needs of employees with the resources of the University while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

28 HR Highlights NWCCU Commendation: The Commission commends Utah Valley University for the extensive array of professional development opportunities for faculty and staff, offered through the department of Human Resources and the Office of Teaching and Learning.
