3 »» Welcome from the Chairs of Directors Newquay ducation Trust (NT) and Peninsula Learning Trust (PLT) will officially merge into one Trust on the 1st September This new Trust will be called Cornwall ducation Learning Trust (CLT). It will initially comprise of four secondary schools, one junior school, seven primary schools and one Free School to open in Our existing COs will be standing down as of 31/8/19, when both will be retiring. We have been planning this new Trust for some time and received approval for its formation from the RSC s Office in June During the journey, we have established a very successful School Improvement Board which oversees the educational monitoring of all our schools to ensure they continue to improve in a rapid and sustainable fashion. Our secondary schools have developed their own bespoke school improvement strategies which have been in place since June Our primary schools are part of Kernow Teaching School Alliance, (KTSA) with whom they collaborate on school improvement. CLT will be a KTSA Board member. NT and PLT are financially robust and have a proven track record of sound financial management. The CLT Board of Directors have been working as a Shadow Project Board and are fully committed to overseeing the successful transition from two Trusts to one and the appointment of a CO to lead is the next stage of this exciting journey. 5 »»Our Schools Our current school sites are shown in the tables below, beginning with schools within the Peninsula Learning Trust, and continuing with schools within Newquay ducation Trust. In addition to those schools, Newquay Primary Academy - a two-form entry 4-11 primary school with capacity for 420 pupils is due to open in September Poltair School - an secondary school is due to join in April 2019, bringing an additional 645 students. 8 »Job» Description JOB TITL CHIF XCUTIV OFFICR RSPONSIBL TO TH BOARD OF DIRCTORS SALARY NGOTIABL DPNDING ON SKILLS AND XPRINC PURPOS The Chief xecutive Officer will be an outstanding strategic leader who will develop, articulate and embed the vision, values, ethos and goals of Cornwall ducation Learning Trust (CLT). They will inspire and empower others to share in achieving these for the benefit of all our young people. The CO will be accountable, and will take responsibility for the performance of all schools within the Trust and will create the drive to achieve the best possible educational outcomes. As the Trust s designated accounting officer, the CO will ensure resources are being effectively deployed for the benefit of our young people and that the Trust complies with all of its legal and regulatory obligations. THICAL LADRSHIP Understand and analyse the political and policy context Work with directors and leaders to develop the Trust s vision, mission, values, operating principles and strategic priorities Translate the vision and goals into a plan of action with agreed milestones Manage short term demands in the context of the Trust s longer term aims 2. STRATGIC LADRSHIP Secure buy-in across the Trust to the vision, mission, values, operating principles and strategic priorities Identify and embed key polices and initiatives to secure commitment and make the vision and values real Align people and development plans to work towards the agreed goals Review progress and impact and refresh the vision and mission accordingly 3. INSPIRATIONAL LADRSHIP Create a collaborative learning culture Understand the key drivers of school improvement and enable their application across the Trust Develop and implement strategies for schools in different contexts and at different points in their improvement journeys 8 Determine the tight-loose balance on curriculum content and approaches to teaching and learning

CORPORAT XCUTIV Have clear scheme of management delegation and effective reporting arrangements to Members, Directors and all levels of accountability Support the development of directors, governors and the central MAT team stablish consistency of policies and procedures across all schools in the Trust nsure compliance with all statutory, financial and regulatory requirements 10.
