1 Professional Services Courses at the Centre for Lifelong Learning As part of the professional services offer we are recruiting for courses in Accounting, Finance and Human Resources. Admissions for courses will take place during term-time only at Blackstock Road: 12 th April 2017 at 4.00pm-5.00pm in 3.03B 10th May 2017 at 4.00pm-6.00pm in 3.03B 7 th June 2017 at 4.00pm-6.00pm in 3.03B 28 th June 2017 at 4.00pm-6.00pm in 3.03B 12 th July 2017 at 4.00pm-6.00pm in 3.03B On average admission times last approximately an hour. You will be assessed in English and Maths. In order to enrol after the assessment, please bring with you a passport. There is funding support available for some of the courses please bring evidence of benefits if you want to access this. Advanced Learning Loans are available for most of the L3-L5 courses, please ask a member of staff during the admissions for further details. Bookkeeping qualifications Accounting Academy: AAT Level 1 Introductory Award in Bookkeeping 62h course (Feb-Jun Thurs 13:00-16:45) With this qualification there s no need for any prior accounting knowledge. This course will give you a solid background in single entry bookkeeping. It offers an introduction to manual bookkeeping skills and the essential skills of single-entry bookkeeping. Assessment consists of 2 exams. Qualification consists of four units: Introduction to bookkeeping Working within bookkeeping Bookkeeping and accounts Spreadsheet software AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping 85h courses (Feb-July Thurs 9:30 17:00) This qualification delivers the skills and essential knowledge to manage books effectively. The course offers an introduction to manual double entry bookkeeping, including associated documents and processes, up to Trial Balance standard. Assessment consists of 2 exams. Qualification consists of two units: Processing bookkeeping transactions Control accounts, journals and the banking system

Computerised Accounts qualifications AAT Level 1 Introductory Award in Computerised Accounting 50 hour courses (Feb-May Tue 9:30-15:45) This is the perfect starting point if you want to carry out basic finance and administrative duties using the SAGE accounting software package. Assessment consists of 2 exams. Qualification consists of 2 units: Computerised accounts (Sage) Spreadsheet software AAT Level 2 Foundation Award in Accounting Software 25 hour courses (Feb-May Mon and Wed 9:30-12:15) With this qualification you can build on your knowledge of accounting software packages. You'll learn practical skills, from using accounting software, entering accounting transactions and producing a range of reports. Assessment consists of 1 exam. Qualification consists of 1 unit: Computerised accounts (Sage) 3. Accountancy Qualifications Entry Award in Accounting (AAT Access) 75h course (Feb-Jun Mon and Wed 13:00-15:45) This qualification is perfect for ESOL learners or people taking their first step on the career ladder. As well as getting a taster of what it s like to work in a professional environment, you will pick up accounting terms and get support with literacy and numeracy. Assessment consists of 1 exam. Qualification consists of 4 units: Mathematics for accounting Essential accounting procedures Accounting in a professional environment Creating business documents

4 AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting 210h courses (Feb-Jun Mon and Wed 9:30-17:00) This qualification will prepare you for entry-level accounting roles. It delivers a solid foundation in finance administration - covering areas such as double entry bookkeeping to basic costing principles and using accounting software. Assessment consists of 5 exams. Qualification consists of 5 units: Basic Costing Computerised Accounting Bookkeeping Transactions Control of Accounts, Journals and Banking Systems Effective Working in Accounting and Finance AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting 305h (Feb-Jun Mon and Wed Thurs 9:30-17:00 and Fri 9:30 12:15) In this qualification you will master more complex financial processes, including accounts preparation, advanced bookkeeping, spreadsheet software, final accounts for sole traders and partnerships, costs and revenues and professional ethics. Assessment consists of 6 exams. Qualification consists of 6 units: Accounts preparation Prepare accounts for sole traders and partnerships Costs and revenues Professional ethics Indirect tax Spreadsheets softwar

5 Financial Qualifications: 1. L3 Retail Banking Conduct of Business 120h course The Certificate in Retail Banking Conduct of Business (CertRBCB ) is a QCF Level 3 qualification. It has been designed to set a new independent standard in customer service excellence and to help UK retail banks embed understanding of the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) Retail Banking Conduct of Business and payment services regulations within their organisations and to assist in the implementation of regulation within the context of providing a high quality customer experience. The qualification has been developed for customer-facing staff and equips them with the tools and terminology necessary to analyse the retail banking products that support their client s needs, wants and aspirations. 2. L3 Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice 200h course (Tue and Thurs 17:45-21:00) Take the first step on the path to becoming a qualified mortgage adviser with the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP ). Any individual who wishes to give professional advice to consumers on mortgages requires an appropriate qualification that is recognised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). As the premier mortgage qualification, CeMAP is firmly established as the qualification of choice in the financial services industry.

6 Human Resources Qualifications: 3. CIPD Level 3 Diploma in Human Resources Practice (Spaces Available for Sep 2017) 125h course (Wed 17:45-21:00) This CIPD Foundation Level qualification is perfect if you want to acquire a wide range of relevant practical skills in either Human Resources (HR) or Learning and Development (L&D). This qualification is designed to support your career development in either HR or L&D by providing a foundation for you to build on and introducing you to the knowledge and capabilities needed by today s professionals. 4. CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Human Resources(Spaces Available for Sep 2017) 170h course (Tue and Thurs 18:00-20:45) CIPD Intermediate qualification gives you the opportunity to build on your HR or L&D expertise and gain a professional level of CIPD membership. Set at undergraduate level, this qualification is suitable for you if you are looking to develop a career in HR management or development and want to study a recognised qualification or need to understand the role of HR or L&D in the wider organisational and environmental context.

7 Professional Services Study Programmes for year olds 5. Level 2 Professional Services Study Programme (Spaces Available for Sep 2017) Are you interested in a career within professional services, in areas such as, accounting, finance and banking? This one-year course will give you a chance to develop your accounting and financial skills to prepare and enable you to develop practical skills that you will be using in your future workplace. There are four main qualifications that you will be working toward on this course: 1. Level 1 in Accounting (Accredited by AAT) 2. Certificate in Financial Capability and Careers Development (Accredited by IFS) 3. GCSE Maths Grade C plus 4. GCSE English Grade C plus Entry Requirements You will need four GCSEs at grade D or above, one of which must be in English Language and one mathematics or equivalent level qualifications. Attend a formal assessment prior to enrolment which will test your knowledge of math s and logical thinking. You will need to demonstrate your interest in the subject. 6. Level 3 Professional Services Study Programme (Spaces Available for Sep 2017) Have you achieved your A-C GCSEs, are aged and interested in a career within professional services in areas such as accounting, finance and banking? This intensive one-year course will give you a chance to develop your accounting and financial skills to prepare and enable you to develop practical skills that you will be using in your future workplace. There are three main qualifications that you will be working toward on this course: 1. Level 2 AAT Certificate in Accounting (Accredited by AAT) 2. Certificate in Financial Studies L3 (Accredited by IFS) 3. Award in Accounting Skills to Run your Business (Accredited by AAT) Entry Requirements You will need 3 GCSEs at grade C or above, two of which must be in English and Math s. Attend a formal assessment prior to enrolment which will test your knowledge of Math s and logical thinking. You will need to demonstrate your interest in the subject. Completion of a L2 Accounting or Financial qualification will be a strong advantage. Experience working with the public in any capacity will be a strong advantage
