SAE Institute is looking for a Finance Manager to drive successfully SAE Corporate and SAE UK. The Finance Manager. The Finance Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining financial policies and management information systems, as well as liaise with the management team on aspects of the financial management of the Campuses. The role combines accounting skills with business management skills. The Finance Manager will be responsible for looking to the future to analyse the performance of the individual business units and advise on how to pre-empt problems, adapt to changing circumstances and improve value. The Finance Manager will be responsible for providing financial advice and information to support strategic business decision-making and control. Essential Accounting qualifications, demonstrated knowledge and understanding of professional accounting principles and practices. Experience with corporate financial, tax, accounting and administrative information systems. Experience in managing a finance function/team. Experience in the use of accounting specific software (Oracle, SAP, Sage, Hyperion). Experience in preparation of financial reports. Experience in contributing to and/or developing and managing strategy. Demonstrated analytical skills. Capacity to understand and implement internal controls and process improvements. Effective interpersonal skills with a variety of cultural and ethnic stakeholder groups. Computer literacy skills inclusive of demonstrated competence with the Microsoft Office suite. The ability to work on own initiative, prioritise work, handle pressure of meeting tight monthly deadlines. The ability to monitor and maintain management information systems and procedures. The ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone with individuals and with a wide variety of organisations and audiences. Must have rights to live and work in UK. 2 Position Description Title: UK Finance Manager Corporate and UK Business Division: Responsible to: Direct Reports: SAE Corporate CFO, SAE Group Accounts Officer, SAE UK 1. Primary Objectives of Job: The position of Financial Manager will work with the CFO to apply the principles of accounting to provide the financial information necessary for the planning and financial protection of the UK Campus network. The FM will help drive the success of the business. The FM will be responsible for establishing and maintaining financial policies and management information systems, as well as liaise with the management team on aspects of the financial management of the Campuses. The role combines accounting skills with business management skills. The FM will be responsible for looking to the future to analyse the performance of the individual business units and advise on how to pre-empt problems, adapt to changing circumstances and improve value. Accounts Officer, SAE UK iii. Navitas UK Finance iv. SAE Regional Finance professionals v. SAE Campus Managers 3. Key accountabilities that are part of the role: i. Actively participate in meetings of SAE as required ii. Assist as directed and where required in the preparation of data for the campus Rolling Plan budgets with senior management, SAE Campus Managers and the SAE finance team General and Strategic 1

3 Working with the CFO in the following areas: iii. Create, implement and monitor processes and procedures around the creation of latest estimate forecasts iv. Prepare monthly financial statements, including individual and consolidated profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries v. Analysis of financial results for SAE Group vi. Inform key strategic decisions and formulate business strategies vii. Implement corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls viii. Contribute to medium and long-term business planning ix. Advise on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions x. Offer professional judgment on financial matters and advise on ways of improving business performance xi. Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers xii. Liaise with other function managers to put the finance view in context xiii. Monitor and evaluate financial information systems xiv. Prepare financial (statutory) accounts and working papers for Head Office for external audit purposes xv. Prepare business plans and other investment decision models as required xvi. Assist in the ongoing development of the MIS/Accounting system xvii. Assist in the management of internal/external audits in accord with Risk Management unit in Head Office xviii. Liaise with external suppliers as required xix. Contribute to Navitas Group finance projects and initiatives xx. Assist with other UK and international financial matters for the SAE Group xxi. Other duties as required Financial Management xxii. Responsible for the UK Limited Company xxiii. Perform creditor control functions for SAE Campuses and SAE UK Head Office xxiv. Maintain iexpenses for designated Business Units when available xxv. Prepare payments for authorisation as required xxvi. Reconciliation of Student and other Receivable sub-ledgers to General Ledger control account xxvii. As part of the month-end process, perform reconciliation of designated general ledger accounts against subsidiary ledgers and prepare journal entries or adjustments, as necessary, to provide an accurate financial position at each month-end xxviii. Carry-out sundry debtors control functions including monthly inter-company reconciliations xxix. Prepare on charges to other Navitas Business Units, SAE Campuses and holding companies xxx. Prepare and issue travel advances to staff as necessary, ensuring appropriate documentation/receipts/travel log are obtained to meet audit requirement 2

Co-ordinate student receipting for designated BU's as required Reconcile student invoicing, payments and recognition of revenue on a monthly basis in within the stipulated timeframe for completion of month end accounts Review, and where necessary process transactions to, student accounts (including correction journals, withdrawal / penalty / accommodation fees, timely processing of student refunds, payment plans, sponsorships, bursaries etc.) Maintain the Oracle fixed assets ledger (including processing of mass additions and running of periodic depreciation report) Disbursement of petty cash including payment, reconciliation, arranging replenishment and journaling of spend Take responsibility for ensuring the integrity of financial record storage including batch transaction printouts and archival of prior year records Take responsibility for maintaining the employee reporting relationship in iproc and iexpenses when available Services xxxviii. Liaise as required and directed with the Campus Manager s regarding the provision of frontline financial service to students xxxix. Support as required and directed the student application and verification processes where receipting validation is required xl. Assist as required to assess the monitoring of the student s financial status. Training and Development xli. Identify and implement agreed plans for own training and development needs xlii. Developing and implementing training activities for staff on finance forms and procedures - particularly with regard to iproc and iexpenses - working in conjunction with other Navitas UK employees Other Duties and Responsibilities xliii. Undertake such other duties and tasks as may lie within the scope of this post to ensure the effective delivery and development of financial service to the UK network 4.
