1 Queensland Airports Limited Role Description Position Title: Location: Department: Reports to: Corporate Affairs Executive Gold Coast Corporate Affairs Manager Corporate Affairs Reporting to this position: Nil Position Purpose: To work within the Corporate Affairs team to coordinate and manage internal and external communication activities, including media, public relations, sponsorship and community consultation across the QAL Group. 2 Organisational Values Job Role Requirements Objective 1: Media Proactively source weekly media story leads across the Group Write and distribute media releases for QAL Group Preparation and distribution of daily media clippings to management and board as requested Lead the development and roll out of a proactive media and PR annual plan, updated regularly through each Airport Coordinate media activities and enquiries Assist with emergency media activities as requested Provide for an escort for media at QAL Airports (particularly Gold Coast) whenever possible; and coordinate media escorts for other ports through local staff General copy writing Monitor and ensure adherence by staff to QAL s Media Policy and Procedures Work with BDM staff to plan and leverage PR activities around marketing initiatives and campaigns Objective 2: Internal Communication Manage the timely production and appropriate distribution of the monthly staff newsletter Source and draft stories and assist in preparing newsletters, staff updates and other communication activities as required Manage the implementation and coordination of the QAL staff lunchboxes Develop and assist in rolling out internal communications strategy Corporate Affairs Executive Queensland Airports Page 2 of 6

3 Design and implement internal communication strategy for key projects Provide relevant information for the monthly board report (including media analysis and future PR activity) Assist in the production of other relevant internal communication tools Consider and suggest new ways to better communicate and engage with staff Objective 3: External Communication Monitor the corporate material and undertake relevant corporate updates to the QAL Group websites regularly Coordinate key external stakeholder briefings (government, media) including presentation requirements Maintain effective communication with airline and relevant tourism industry PR representatives Draft and provide editorial for QAL and associated airport publications Take a lead role in the drafting and preparation and design process of the QAL annual report Objective 4: Community Consultation Manage the community consultation requirements of QAL and our associated airports Develop and deliver community consultation plans for key projects (eg. LIFT and Alive redevelopments) Ensure the legislative community consultation aspects of the Airports Act are actioned in a timely fashion and in accordance with the legislation Attend ANACC (Aviation Noise Abatement Consultative Committee) and CACG (Community Aviation Consultation Group) meetings (when required on behalf of the Manager Corporate Affairs) and report back on any issues raised Attend community events and presentations as required Objective 5: Sponsorship Manage the QAL Group sponsorship portfolio, including meeting coordination, media plans, sponsorship deliverables and post event reporting Attend sponsorship events as required (including those outside work hours) Travel to attend sponsorship events as required at other QAL ports (TSV, ISA and LRE) Work with the Manager Corporate Affairs and BDM staff to effectively leverage sponsorship activities and create effective marketing and leveraging campaigns Provide a post-event analysis of media coverage obtained Develop and manage project budgets for leveraging activity Objective 6: Administration/Ad hoc Ensure QAL databases of key stakeholders (government, media and industry) remain updated and correct Provide data custodian role for Corporate Affairs SharePoint site to ensure records are kept and managed appropriately Process Finance One requirements (purchase orders) in timely fashion and within budget General administration as required, including preparation of Microsoft PowerPoint presentations Management and coordination of QAL events (including launches, media events, official openings, etc.) including liaison with QAL BDM department to ensure high standard of delivery Represent the organisation in a professional manner at all times Participate in some out of hours or on-call work as required due to nature of this role Corporate Affairs Executive Queensland Airports Page 3 of 6

Key Capabilities Required to Perform Role Educational Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Communications, Public Relations and/or Journalism Professional Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in similar role Experience working with media Sponsorship management experience Experience in the aviation industry (desirable) Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Exemplary written skills, with experience in writing a range of editorial material Strong interpersonal skills Advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point is essential Strong verbal and presentation skills High attention to detail and follow up Superior organisational and time management skills Ability to problem solve and work independently Willingness to work flexible hours when required Self-motivated with a strong desire to achieve Ability to deliver projects on-time Ability to work in a team environment Strong analytical skills Corporate Affairs Executive Queensland Airports Page 5 of 6
