3 Panorama Vision To improve disease prevention and reduce the impact of communicable diseases in the Manitoba population

4 History SARS demonstrated a national need for better data management Discussions began in 2009 significant work done by public health groups in the province project was halted for a variety of reasons, including H1N1 initial recommendations and advice being used by today s team

5 What is Panorama? Panorama is a secure, integrated, web-based electronic public health record designed to assist public health practitioners to manage: Immunization Vaccine Inventory Communicable Diseases Outbreaks

6 Why Panorama? Panorama aligns with provincial and RHA priorities and supports. Improved coordination by connecting care providers and harmonizing processes and standards Real time surveillance and earlier detection of outbreaks locally, regionally and provincially Identification of individual and population health needs Shared management of communicable disease investigations between jurisdictions.
