2 Contents About the Conference Programme for the Day Speakers & Topics PARN Events & Research 2016 Presentation Slides (separate handout) It s interesting to hear how most professional bodies face the same challenges as us! Kari Koonin, Vice Chair of Professional Development Committee Institute of Translation & Interpreting Diversifying Income Streams 12 May 2016 Royal College of Nursing, London Today's conference will lift the lid on on how professional bodies are looking to move away from a reliance on traditional funding models. We explore which income streams have increased and which are expected to grow by providing relevant and in-depth research. The workshop session gives time for both individual reflectionand group discussion about commercial activity at professional bodies. Does it really risk alienating members? What other challenges does commercialism present? Your chair for today is Peter Lewis, Chief Executive of the Institute of Fundraising. Our keynote speaker, Professor Paul Palmer, joins us from the Cass Business School and will be discussing how social investment impacts upon financial sustainability. We'll be hearing case studies from professional bodies exploring and developing their income streams. We'll also be hearing from our headline sponsor, Clear Direct Debit, who will be sharing their wisdom on collecting a diverse income. Organisations speaking today include the British Institute of Radiology, the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply and the Institute of Brewing and Distilling. PARN conferences are unrivalled in quality, built around in-depth quantitative and qualitative research on the professional body sector. These cornerstone events are unique in focusing on strategic thinking and how to apply our research & case studies to your organisation. Thanks to our sponsors
